Isn't this always the trend? They build Manny's stuff up to be the biggest and best and when it's not they throw out some random argument to explain why they've been proved wrong. Both are huge PPV's after ODLH, Mayweather is just bigger. Deal with it... :thumbsup

Excatly my point Eze. You claim MOST people kjnew it was a tune up, yet is was marketed as a legitimate World Title fight between two WW's. And as I said earlier, casual fans make PPV's. Casual fans also rarely know better.

You're just assuming most people knew it was a tune up... Logic says different.

I disagree. I think people bought it because they wanted to see Mayweather after his near two years off despite who he was going against.

Oscar DLH the King of non heavyweight PPVs was beat by Mayweather in PPV sales with Mosley 2 and be honest, the casual fan definitely thought that that fight was far more competitive than marquez-mayweather

Plus, Floyd/JMM (1m+ppv, a tune up fight according to the *****s) did better than Floyd/Hatton (950,000, two unbeatable fighters).

It particularly doesn't mean too much. But in the conversation of whom is the bigger draw: Mayweather.

That's not what we are arguing. YOU said most people knew this was a tune up. I said it was marketed as a legit World Title fight between two top WW's.

So what exactly are you disagreeing with?

Please don't try to speak fo anyone but yourself Eze. You can't say what MOST thought or what they think. BTW...not sure what this is supposed to mean in regards to the discussion.

Two of Pac's biggest PPV's were against de la Hoya and Hatton, who had gotten additional massive exposure 18 months prior when they got beaten by Mayweather. Sooooo, more to the point.

All I can say is =/ then.

Most people I spoke to who are casual fans, knew that this fight wasn't going to be that competitive but most wanted to see Mayweather after his time off.

Either way, my whole point from the beginning.

Mayweathers a slightly bigger draw but Im not saying he deserves more than 50/50

50/50 shouldn't even be negotiable at this point.
