No. I think that Berto wasn't caught cheating and hasn't put his entire career in question.

I can agree with you on Williams, but the guy said he could do it. I would want him to first fight at 147 against a solid opponent (or two) and THEN challenge the elite guys. I do not want to see another ODLH performance.

 

While what has happened obviously would effect a victory over Marg, he is still a proven elite welterweight, if Pac beat Berto now people would just say that he was a hype job and never really that good.

 

Rockgloves has only fought one fight where we know for sure he wasn't cheating with loaded wraps and he is 0-1 under those conditions, by brutal knockout. There is nothing elite about him. He is a slow plodder with limited ability who has been cheating everyone involved in boxing for... well, we don't know how many years. Possibly his entire "career".

No. Margarito's resume does not suggest that he is elite when you factor in the fact that he is KNOWN to be a cheater and is 0-1 by brutal knockout since the revelations about him.

True, but that is boxing. Just like if Berto beat him they would say Pac was getting old and over hyped. At the end of the day though I would respect either man for the win.

You couldn't fault Pac for fighting a legit title holder who has defended his belt. I don't care if it was Matthew Hatton.

 

Margarito has zero credibility and doesn't deserve any kind of quality fights. It's obvious now that Pacquiao wants nothing to do with Mayweather or the Olympic style tests. Manny will still be seen as a god by his so-called fans while avoiding the fighter he should be fighting. Pacquiao would be fighting yet another come forward flat footed fighter with no defense and avoiding another skilled fighter that would give him nothing but problems and a lot of people will pretend not to see this. If this goes through Manny's credibility should take a big hit.
