Have you ever seen an actual boxing match, VIP?

Some of the stuff you come out with makes me seriously doubt it.

Margarito has never been proved or even been accused legally of using hand wraps against Cotto so that theorys ****ed.

Trust Mr VIP to think Margarito has a chance. Almost as good as his Malignaggi to beat Khan is a cert.

It's hope rather than expectation. He doesn't want Pacquiao to win so his hero can keep fighting sub-par opposition whilst taking 90% of the purse - which is all that matters to Mayweather obsessives.

While I don't think he cheated against Cotto, there's an awful lot of doubt about it. The fact that the CSAC wanted to introduce evidence and testimony from that fight says that there was some suspicion.

And why is a legal accusation necessary to have a suspicion?

The thing is was that "covering up" a tactic or a flaw in Pacquiao?

One thing i notice in Manny is that he can't take a breather without giving his opponent chances. I think this is a flaw in his game.

Flaws in your game usually come out when your flaw is your opponents strong point, for example Ali didn’t like to fight going forward and he liked to be able to hit you with a jab. Ken Norton fought at a weird crouch and he up jabbed with Ali all night and Ali couldn’t land his jab as much as he wanted to...I know Ali was slightly on the verge of washed up, but Ken Norton’s style gave him fits plus Norton didn’t like punchers and Ali couldn’t hurt him. There is the perfect example of a better fighter having life and death every time against a bad style for him.

What happens when somebody brings fatigue onto Manny and they make him pay worse than Clottey and Cotto did when he covered up and tried to steal a rest.

The more i think about it, the more i see a really competitive and intriguing fight. Certainly not a walkover for Pacquiao.

There's a reason why they've taken this fight - this is something I can't eliminate from my thinking.

They definitely aren't going to take any undue risks with him, eyeing a potentially huge payday against Floyd in the near future.

It's definitely a good point you make, whenever the pace dropped against Marquez in the rematch the fight was relatively one-sided, Pacquiao just didn't look comfortable at all.

Against the likes of Hatton who likes to fight at a red hot pace, or Cotto who can't to save his life - he looks much better.

Margarito won't fall over, and he won't fight like a journeyman as Clottey did, but Pac still belts him to a wide decision.

I am interested to see if Manny can keep such a long, tall man off of him all night. Like i said for me the one weakness in Manny’s game is he does not know how to steal a rest without taking punishment.

For example Floyd and James Toney will relax in their defensive postures for a minute or two and pick off shots. Andre Ward and Bernard Hopkins will grab you and smother you on the inside. Calzaghe could stand in front of you, do little subtle things and not get tagged big, Vitali will feint you and create distance, Wlad will clinch etc.

But because of Manny’s size and style he does not have an effective resting style. Every fighter gets tired from time to time we just don’t always know it (a great point that Johna brought up about Oscar in another was he couldn't hide his fatigue) If Manny gets a little tired this fight, it will interesting to see what happens because he doesn't 'run' or get on the bike even though he has the ability and legs to do so, he stays in punching range.

It's difficult to see past the speed advantage. Manny's superior footwork should be enough to ensure he dances round Margarito all night long, ala Cotto V Tony, in the first 6 rounds and I can see a lot of straight shots piercing Tony's guard through the later rounds.

I'm debating whether i think Margarito has enough fight left in him to last the distance or not. If his heart is really in this I think he could last the distance but that remains to be seen.

To add some balance . . . I don't like to consider the Margarito Shane fight at all. Margarito must have suffered some serious mental damage before the fight even started with the discovery of the plaster and there's no way he could then have been in the right frame of mind to fight. If he knew about the plaster then he knows he's just lost his biggest advantage. If he didn't know then he's just lost all faith in his trainer. Take this fight out of the equation and we're almost back to the Margarito that beat Cotto (I realise that's not quite the case but let's run with it for arguments sake).

Cotto back then had many of the solid assets that Manny now has. Great footwork, Good hooks to the body and an ability to turn figthers through their punches. If Margo can withstand the pressure as well as he did in the first 6 there and stilll come back to land some shots he has a chance. As pointed out manny was hurt against Cotto but Cotto gave Manny the opportunity to work out of it.

Margarito is more of a one speed fighter. He won't get out of his game plan and let Manny out of trouble as easily if he ever gets him there.

I seem to remember Freddie being very cautious of a tall rangy fighter in the shape of Foreman recently. Margarito may not be as compact or sharp as Foreman but there must be something worrying Freddie slightly still. Will that affect the mentality during the build up?

Anyway . . .Pac for me but undecided on the outcome.

I didn’t want to say this but you've forced me to reveal something. I had a dream that Margarito knocked Manny out with an uppercut! Couldn’t believe it, I rarely remember my dreams...that being said, I’m not actually going to assume that it’s really going to happen.

Manny wins this, but there's something strange about it for me, I just don’t like the fight. This is a fight between a light welterweight and a light middleweight at 150 and let’s not forget the half of foot in height. Manny is the king of those long sustained beat downs, and Margarito is the king of taking them. If Margarito regains his form he had in 2008, this will be a ultra competitive and I know , I know, I know about the tainted handwraps and I am not glorifying Margarito’s achievements at all, But the guy was awesome in his pressure style, he was really in a zone as far as closing distance, urgency and punch selection...interesting fight thats getting more competitive the more i think about it.

I'd prefer Manny to wait till Mayweather finds his testicles.

Dont want to see Manny involved in a war as it could hinder him in what is the biggest fight in a long time. I think he'll win but not in the shut out everyone else is predicting.

Mosley killed Margarito...doesn't necessarily mean Pac will do the same.

 Those dreams always make you uncomfortable in calling a fight the other way. Somehow they make you feel like you have insider knowledge. :yep

Like I said I can't see past the speed advantages Manny has, particularly in his footwork, but if Margarito comes in on fight night at anywhere near the 165 he has been rumoured to be capable of then it could be interesting. Size catches up with everyone at somepoint. The question is, is this a big enough size difference to make it happen?
