Amir ‘King’ Khan confirmed as Primetime commentator for Pacquiao-Marquez trilogy

London, England (November 3, 2011) – British boxing sensation and reigning WBA and IBF light-welterweight world champion Amir ‘King’ Khan will be ringside as a guest commentator for Primetime (Channel 480 on Sky) when his stablemate Manny Pacquiao faces off against the Mexican great Juan Manuel Marquez next Saturday night.

The 12th of November clash has been one of the most eagerly anticipated amongst fight fans as it brings to head the third, and potentially final, encounter between two legends whose previous engrossing battles have exceeded expectations.

More of the same is expected, with both fighters promising not to give an inch as they aim to close the book once and for all on a trilogy that will go down amongst boxing folklore.

Having already captured a potential ‘Fight of the Year’ candidate in Pacquiao-Marquez, Primetime is delighted to have landed another of the fight games biggest names in Khan who will be on hand to watch over a great night of boxing that, away from the main event, sees Breidis Prescott take on the undefeated Mike Alvarado and the Bolton star’s nemesis Timothy Bradley against the experienced Joel Casamayor.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing some great action on November 12th,” said Khan. “I’ve been with Manny for some of his camp and I can tell you he is looking razor sharp in the gym. His speed and power is coming together at the right time but we all know how dangerous an opponent Juan Manuel Marquez is. He’s shown in the previous two fights between them that there is no quit in him and that he has the ability to cause Manny some trouble. Like everyone I’m excited about the fight because it’s clear that it’s going to be one that boxing fans are going to love,” added Khan.

The Olympic silver medallist is also convinced that the undercard will prove to be just as intriguing for spectators.

“Prescott is coming off a loss to Paul McCloskey but I’m sure he will know that this fight is his last chance at reaching the big time and getting into world-title contention. Since we fought his career has not progressed the way he would have wanted but he can be a dangerous fighter because of his punching power and that makes fans interested especially because he is up against Alvarado who is undefeated,” said Khan.

“Timothy Bradley is another name on the undercard that I’m sure many will want to watch just to see how he looks after his long lay-off. It’s no secret that I wanted to fight him and prove that I’m the undisputed king of the 140 pound division, but I will be watching closely to see how he does against a veteran like Casamayor who has been in with, and beat, some of the top names in the sport like the late Diego Corrales and Michael Katsidis,” said the world champion.

The November 12 clash will be screened live and exclusive in the UK on Primetime (Channel 480 on Sky). Having screened some of boxing’s biggest names including Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan and Carl Froch, Primetime are set to get boxing fans mouths watering again with Pacquiao vs Marquez III.

You can order this great night of boxing, which is also set to feature both Timothy Bradley and Breidis Prescott, for only £14.95 by calling 08712004444*, by visiting www.primetimelive.co.uk or Virgin Media customers can purchase using the ‘On Demand’ menu. Customers on Sky must register the first time they use Primetime and once registered can purchase using the ‘Box Office’ menu.

It would also seem to suggest Khan-Peterson will be going on Primetime too. Ah well, there's another Khan fight I'll miss- can't say I'm too bothered!

Pacquiao vs Marquez III sees the World’s best pound for pound fighters return to Primetime this November. Ranked number 1in the pound for pound lists, Manny Pacquiao will be looking to end the controversy by convincingly dispatching long time rival Juan Manuel Marquez. After a controversial points decision and a draw both fighters have a point to prove. The previous battles have delivered knockdowns galore and this fight promises to be no different.

Timothy Bradley steps back into the ring after ten months out and having been stripped of his WBC title as issues with his manager meant a fight with Amir Khan didn’t happen. Bradley will want to return to winning ways and prove he is still the number 1 in the Light Welterweight division. To do that he’ll need to defend his WBO title against former two division champion Joel Casamayor.

Breidis Prescott also makes a quick return to British TV screens. Following his points loss to Paul McCloskey the only man to knock Amir Khan out aims to get back to winning ways as he challenges for the IBF Latino Light Welterweight crown. An undefeated Mike Alvarado stands in his way, with 41 KO’s from 58 fights between them this has all the makings of a fight of the night candidate.

The card is completed by Luis Cruz vs Juan Burgos for the NABO Super Featherweight championship.

So it’s titles fights all the way on November 12th, another must see night exclusive to Primetime!

You can order the card for only £14.95 by calling 08712004444*, visiting www.primetimelive.co.uk or Virgin Media customers can purchase using the ‘On Demand’ menu. Customers on Sky must register the first time they use Primetime and once registered can purchase using the ‘box office’ menu.

I'll say this - it's awesome that you're showing the first two fights. Absolute classics and it's nice you've got 24/7. £15 is still too much though, mate.

Yes Khan will be on commentary with Benny Ricardo, we thought he could bring some insider knowledge from Pacquiao's camp and also will be able to give some great insight into the Bradley and Prescot fights.

Andy Kerr is anchoring, Bunce is in studio too and we've got a special guest we will be announcing soon

seriously bad idea but anyhow i still might buy and turn them 2 ******s you have commentating on mute

btw you should of had khan in the studio he could of given us insights to those fights sitting in the studio, khan is very childish still and his little fanny fight he has going on with bradley is going to make it unbearable to listen to, in no way will that be an unbiased commentary, he could also end up licking mannys **** too much during the marquez fight

I agree Khan in the studio would be prefect, Khan't see him being a good commentator.
