Pacquaio has nothing to lose if he fights Martinez at 154, same if he faces Foreman. But the legacy is bigger with Martinez, that is why his team should atleast think about it if the Mayweather fight do not materialize.

Is it a winnable fight for him? IMO he can win. With Roach at the helm, he has a chance. Pac is an elite fighter, confident of what his skills and what he can do. But if he loses, which I think there is a good chance to happen due to size disparity and Martinez being a good mover with punch, that is OK. History will not count it against him.

So what are you basing a possible win on, thats what I was talking about, the boxing politics (about him adding to his legacy) doesnt really answer anything to be honest...Based on what gives you the impression that Manny has a chance at 154...thats what I've been trying to get you stans to debate...Manny, just doesnt have what it takes physically to beat him IMO ( due to his size and strenght)

Martinez, has shown that he can take a punch and can dish it back out to his opposing opponent, Manny defense is not the best and you actually think he will get away with that against a fighter like Martinez? I honestly dont think so...Also to add to that how will Manny be able to carry the extra weight...fighting at 154 is something new to Manny.

No offense but what you've posted really didnt have any merit to the conversation...None what so ever! Yes that would be a good accomplishment but what does accomplishments have to do with a fight break down?:patsch

    Not ****!:-(

Just to talk about Pac going up to 154 to fight Martinez is unbelievable.

Pacquiao's optimal weight is at 146-149. If he exceeds this weight, his speed might drastically drop. Martinez' speed at 154 would be too much for pacquiao, and considering martinez' power at that weight. Looking into pac-clottey fight, had clottey open up more, pac's face would all be busted up. What would martinez do to pac at 154? But if martinez continues to fight with his poor defense, even though he has the speed and power, pac may pummel sergio with accurate punches at any desired angles.

And the legacy would end there,he gets hit to much to beat a bigger stronger fighter like Martinez or Williams both with fast hands to different styles but styles to much for Paq and deffinetly to much work rate which could be fatal for him at these weights,Paq beating Mosely or Mayweather is a longshot, against Martinez and Williams it would be nearly impossible, they dont make steroids good enough for that task.:D

    All of a sudden, you're serious mate?

I said in my initial post that Martinez can give him a beatdown, (and that is most probably) so, what else do you need to know?:huh

Now, you are saying he has a zero chance against Martinez at 154? I said he stands a chance base on his power and skills, which he has proven to be effective against legit WW in Cotto and Clottey, who is as big as Martinez. Now, Martinez is also an offensive minded guy, which means he will be open to Pac's attack, and don't say he won't be hurt by Pac's power, especially if he is not expecting those punches.

I am not counting on a Pac's win here, but I won't be a fool to completely disregard what has Pac done in the last two years to just say it is a lost cause, which you are clearly implying in your post.

I'll take martinez here, and I won't be surprised if it's by KO. Pac is at his limit against the big buys at 147 I think. Any bigger and the size advantage will be too much even for him. But this does happen, full props for Pac and even though I really think he'd lose, I'd love to see him try.

Too big too fast and to elusive for Manny. Add to the size disparity Martinez is a southpaw with counterpunching skills. He'd outpoint Manny handlily, also consider for Pac-Man to win he has to hurt his opponent and Martinez has fought Cintron, Williams, and Pavlik with out being seriously hurt. Manny doesnt really have a shot at winning.
