PACQUIAO VS. MATTHYSSE/MAIDANA : Would PAC Look Like an UNSTOPPABLE BEAST Again (?)

They are with GBP, but both would be great action fights. Both there to be hit and Pac's hands are still blazing fast.

Against the Rios/Alvarado winner would be amazing.

Pac is clearly not the monster of a few years ago. His legs are gone and he no longer darts in and out like a rabbit. He fights mostly stationary if you can believe that.

Pac would win but he wouldnt look like a monster in his prime, the Pac weve seen lately would beat Maidana but not so sure about Mathysse

 

Maidana shouldn't be mentioned. He's entertaining but his skill level isn't on the same level as Matthysse. Pac vs. Matthysse would be nice. To me that's a toss up fight although I have a slight feeling Pac's experience will be the difference.

 

Come forward fighters like Matthysse & Maidana are tailor made for Pac. As good as Matthysse is, he can't beat the Pacman. Pac is too faster on the back-foot and he can easily catch these guys with flush punches whose defense aren't that great.

Having a good chin doesn't mean a lot when you get hit by punches you can't see coming. It's one thing to get hit by Ajose, it's another to get hit flush by Pac.

I'm not convinced that Pac's legs are gone, though this seems to be a popular opinion nowadays.

Mosley, JMM, and Bradley were able to neutralize Pac's footwork by fighting off the back-foot.

Against the likes Maidana or Matthysse, whom both are seemingly incapable of taking a backward step, Pac's darting and dancing would be on full display; and he'd resemble the version of himself that was on display against Margs and Hatton, IMO.

 

I'm not saying his legs are shot. They just are't what they used to be. I don't doubt he can look great against these guys but i don't think he can do it like he did in his prime in terms of looking like a rabbit in there for almost the entire fight. I'm sure we would see him look like that in spurts but not for a sustained period of time. He doesn't have the same bounce in his legs. Age happens to everyone.

 

At 147 he might because we don't know if Matthysse could carry his power + Maidana does not look very good @147. Too bad Pacquiao did not stay at 140 IMO bc when he did he looked real good! Too late for that anyway. Pacquiao is ****ed now: not many lucrative options. They need a strong B-side who's nowhere to be seen.

 

Maidana is tailor made for Pac, Matthysse presents more of a threat. Matthysse could look like Pac's first or second fight with Morales while Maidana goes to sleep within 6.
