Mayorga prefers to brawl face-to-face and that's why Mayorga-Pacquiao will be similar to Mayorga brawling Vargas. Mayorga can give Pacquiao a good 5 to 6 rounds, before Pacquiao begins knocking him down. You can say Mayorga would rather get involve in a exciting slugfest matchup with Pacquaio regardless of the outcome. Pacquiao will likely knock him out in 6 to 8 rounds, but Mayorga will give it his all and Mayorga will have his moments in the ring.

Boxing fans will enjoy this fight and I'm sure Pacquiao and Mayorga will enjoy brawling each other.

Pacs no superman. His punches wont hurt Mayorga. Mayorga is too big for Pac.

Pacquiao and Mayorga would accept a fight at 147lb. without hesitation. Pacquiao punches will definitely hurt Mayorga, but Mayorga being Mayorga will allow himself to get hit on purpose. Mayorga can only take so much pounding until his corner throws in the towel, because Mayorga would rather be knockout instead of volunteering to give up.

Pacquiao knocks him out cold within the first two rounds, maybe even FAR worse than Hatton. Mayorga has been facing streaks of knockout losses or winning but tasting canvas or getting wobbled in the process. For once I think the promoters will be honest with how they label a poster, "Nicaraguan corpse".

This isn't a good fight for either man, Clottey is far better/tougher challenge at this point, Mayorga is done.

I'm a Mayorga fan by the way. This guy was a beast in his prime. Pacquiao and Mayorga are the two most violent boxers in the sport. What a wild fight it would have been for the fans. Knockdowns, blood, black-eyes, and everything inbetween. All action!

Mayorgas been beaten down before but not like this. This would be borderline scary, it may turn people off

I'm going to give Mayorga the benefit of the doubt, he might actually have a chance to win, of course the chips are stacked against him. I just wish I saw more of the old Mayorga around the time when he fought Vernon Forrest, Cory Spinks, and Trinidad. He was so exciting. I don't care if he was not a good technical boxer. I just wished he had a better training regiment, he would have stayed at his peak longer, and perhaps even won more fights. How about Mayorga's last fight before he retires with Pacquiao? His last hurrah (and knockout - joking). It would be a nice farewell fight for his fans, and a good pay day for him. Better than what he'll make in his upcoming MMA career.

Ridiculous. Pacquiao would get mauled, even now. When's the last time Mayorga made 147?

It's been said before but apparently needs to be restated again and again: strong light middleweights (or huge welterweights who are essentially light middleweights) are a no-no for Pacquiao. He and his trainer have gone on record saying 147 is the absolute ceiling.

The wide swinging Mayorga will have a shorter life than the wide swinging Hatton. Pac will be bombarding him with short hooks left and right at the inside.

I'm willing to bet that Mayorga will go down to 147 lbs. for the right price. I never liked Mayorga at 154 lbs. or higher. He looked bloated, slower, and tired easily. Mayorga looked at his best at 147 lbs. He was faster, more maneuverable, and had more energy and stamina at that weight. Mayorga can still do it at 147 lbs.

Can Pacquiao fight at 154 lbs.? Nah, he would suffer the same fate as Mayorga.

Mayorga did go the distance with Vargas and Sugar Shane in 12 rounds.

Mayorga can go toe-to-toe with Pacquiao in 6 to 8 rounds. Mayorga has power in his punches from start to finish.

Boxing fans deserve to watch an exciting fight, I know Mayorga and Pacquiao will go at each other like two hungry beast in a cage.

where does this crap stop? pac has fought between 107 and 130 pounds for 13 years
    1 fight at light weight
1 fight at super light weight
2 fights at 142 and 144 pounds, 5 and 3 pounds under welterweight limit

now you have him fighting guys who come in at 170 pounds at fight night during junior middle or middleweight limit? turning this guy into a video game boxer where the rules of science dont apply......
yes mayorga was beaten by DLH who pac beat...but if you have them fighting at the 154 pound limit, pac couldnt hurt him at any point during the fight...not that mayorga is great, but hes a huge junior middle/middle weight
    :hi:
