He also makes sure to fight these guys with fanbases as they're coming off a great win unlike someone else.

so did Ali, and he's everyone's hero around the world. We anit blind, we just know this is boxing not some women's rights class.

Does anyone know exactly how much Mosley and Manny made? Considering the PPV was a success?

Each fight has to be looked at in it's context. Public perception of the matchup goes a long way in determining how many people buy the fight. I'd say Pacquiao selling 1.15 million against a Margo who was coming off a KO loss, a suspension, and a bad performance is more impressive than Mayweather selling 1.05 million against a Marquez who was coming off back to back KO victories against Juan Diaz and Casamayor. Not to mention that Mayweather vs Marquez was 5$ cheaper.

You think all that matters are the names. Like if Mike Tyson fought tomorrow, he would still pull the same kind of PPV numbers he was pulling in his hey day.

    It doesn't work that way.

You *****s call these things excuses but they are just how things work. Most people have understood that.

the bigger name in a PPV bout usually takes home about 22% of the revenue generated on top of their purse guarantee

    1) Pac is not American. Floyd is.

    2) Pac obviously fought a shot fighter. It was not so apparent before the Floyd fight.

    3) Mosley hurt Floyd. Pac hurt Mosley.

The last is what matters. :deal

Dude are you ****ing kidding me? Mayweather looks for the fights he knows people will buy because of the other fighters fan base. What were his ppv numbers before oscar??? You cant compare a whole nation behind somebody to just a few pro black fans who constantly give this man more props that he has earned. He continously attemps to stay in the spotlight because his performances are boring. I would never buy a mayweather fight but I have bought manny pac fights going back to his barrera fight includung hatton and clottey who are not mexican. Mayweather vs hatton was bought by hattons fans not mayweathers. This ****** brings no value to our society, he is a racist and beats woman up. You mofos blind? He avoided the welters era 2-years ago. This guy is a chump.

So where were all the hatton fans when he fought paquiao? 400,000 vs 1.2 mil. U honestly saying Floyd had nothing to do with that number.

If u wanna look at PPV numbers in the past then what were Pacmans before Oscar?

U may never buy his fights but there are millions that do. They may love him or hate but the most important thing is they care about him.

Pac has sold more PPV's than any other active fighter in the sport and has generated more money than any other active fighter in the sport, including Floyd.

Sold more PPVs, generated more money...

You know who the biggest draw is.

Ok ok ok less is more I get it! Next you will try to convince me that when Pacquiao loses to Mayweather that he really won! LOL

Repeat it all you want the FACT is in Four different "contexts" Floyd beat Manny and convincingly in every damn one of them, what do they say? Hmmmm......once is an accident, twice is a coincedence but three times is.......... you know the rest son :good

Number 3 is both irrelevant and extremely toned down.
Shane wanted to run for the hills during the fight.
I think "hurt" is a wild understatement for what Pac did to Shane.

BTT, so what's the point of this thread again?

Mayweather sold the higher PPV than Pac. That doesn't mean he has more followers though.
You are a crazy ass mofo if you think May has more fans than Pac.

Nothing changed. The purse should still be 50-50 between the two.

And damn we all know that even 1M can be considered a massive success for this shitty fight. (props to Arum)
Whoever thinks otherwise is just plain ignorant.

Hatton was not undefetead anymore I think the venue had alo to do with it. Pac was at least on ppv and did good with ppv with the 3 legends he faced and became known. Floyd, hahaha I dont think was ever on ppv pre oscar lol. Only when he fought castillo I believe, a mexican. This is why mayweather will maybe fight ortiz because of ortiz momentum and his new fans. Im out of this discussion if you cant be logicall, peace!!! Oh and I am not a pac fan but would pay to see one of his fights before ****** may
