Pacquiao vs Mosley is a terrible fight. Arum is taking liberties. I want Pac-JMM 3.

Shane Mosley gassed after 2-3 rounds of Mayweather pace, so how the **** can anyone think he can handle Pacquiao intensity?!

This is going to be a horribly one-sided beatdown featuring a prime, superfast, superfit pound-for-pound king and an old tired past-prime version of a once-great fighter now pushing 40.

There's no way Mosley has the defence, speed or stamina to prevent Pacquiao from using his skull as a speedbag for 12 rounds. In all likelihood, the referee or Naazim will have to wave it off in the mid or late rounds because this is a mismatch at this stage, and no-one wants to see a warrior like Shane go out like that.

I have always thought Bob Arum gets unfairly targeted by *****s on here simply because their hero has issues with him, but he doesn't really have a leg to stand on where this fight is concerned. Unlike some, I think the Cotto, Clottey and Margarito fights were all good fights at the time (Cotto especially), but this one is not.

Mayweather dominated the hell out of old Shane, there is no point in fighting him now, other than to line Bob's pockets.

Since Floyd is on vacation searching for his urge, I think the best option is Marquez at 140lbs, for the following reasons:

    - Pacquiao vs Marquez III has an extremely high level of intrigue and interest for casual fans due to their long-standing rivalry. PPV numbers would be high

    - Unlike Mosley, Marquez was excellent in his previous fight, stopping a world-class opponent and performing very very well overall

    - Most Pac fans want to see Manny fight at 140 again before he retires, as he looked sensational there against Hatton but has never fought there since

    - Floyd dominated Mosley in a fair fight, but his domination of Marquez was not fair. That was an engineered weight mismatch and has no bearing on how a Pac-Marquez fight would go at 140. Pac is much closer to JMM in terms of overall size and weight than Floyd is now, and JMM looks much sharper when he doesn't try to bulk up to a 144 limit

    Thoughts? :bbb

Marquez v Pacquiao III is the best option at this point, even though I believe Pacquiao will win.

Regarding the third poll option, kind of. Didn't Roach say he was keeping Pacquiao out of the ring for 6 months to rest? Did Arum just overrule that, or could it be something Roach tells Arum when they meet soon?

Both fights are pretty rock solid for me

Moseley at 147 or 154 is a good fight
Moseley is being counted out by everybody but I think he can still do a few more things. Manny is not on the caliber of defense that Floyd is at and will not run and hide like Mora. I think Manny will be there to be hit at times and I think Moseley can capitalize.

I honestly feel that had it been Manny in that round where Mayweather was rocked Moseley would have finished him off. I think Mosely can do it. However Manny in his last few bouts fought smarter and smarter. Manny did a lot of running around and circling vs Margo knowing he couldnt stand and trade. Maybe he manages to stay away and go in and out. But I think Mosley's power and speed make this an interesting fight

Marquez at 140 is a fight I'd love to see. Marquez would be a perfect measuring stick to see how far Manny has really came. I mean between 1 and 2 so many ppl were like look how much Manny improved then after that ppl thought Manny was done. Now he moves up in weight starts pulling amazing feats and now he is p4p 1 and considered this ATG legend ppl even put him in their top 10. Marquez is the lone guy who has got his number, old or not, at weight a little above or not Marquez has the tools and the knowledge to win. Marquez is not an easy man to beat he can take a punch, get up, withstand and assault, counter great, he always seems to get the last punch in an exchange and the judges like that.

I feel these fights are both great in their own way and I've already came to the conclusion him and Floyd arent fighting so I guess these are the best options this or Berto

personally i don't think Marquez has any place being above 135lbs.

I also think Mosley has a lot more left than many think after the Mayweather fight. Against Mayweather it wasn't a case of gassing, it was that Mayweather countered everything he threw which in turn made him reluctant to throw. Manny isn't a counter puncher nor is he anywhere near as good as Mayweather defensively so expect to see Manny take a decent right hand at some point, and shane can hit

As far as relevence is concerned. Mayweather > Berto > JMM3 > Mosley.

Sergio Martinez for his 160lb belt for GOAT immortality.

Arum knows Shane will sell more tickets and PPV's than JMM and as a business man - this is the smart thing to do.

Can't say I always agree with his choices - but from a business stand-point - this is a smart move. The Regular or Causual Fan knows more about Mosley than Marquez. Most Boxing Fans believe that JMM is a nightmare for Pac and Shane is on the decline - so this makes good business sense - to put a fight with Mosley together.

A better poll I think is:

Pacquiao vs Marquez III at 142-47lbs
    Pacquiao vs Mosley at 147lbs

This is more realistic as I don't think Pacquiao fighting at 140 is an option that they are considering right now.

MMMhm. And I know I've said this before but neither Marquez at 37, good as he is, nor Mosley at 39, fast as he still is, are going to outpoint Manny Pacquiao. The only way either beats him is by knockout and Mosley has a better chance at doing that. He's bigger, stronger, faster, and more likely to go the distance. He's not anywhere close to JMM on ring IQ, but it's not like he is without any craft. I believe he's the tougher challenge here.

Regardless, Pac will get **** for fighting either Marquez or Mosley.. Since they'r both old.

He needs someone like Berto, someone on the rise.

mosley aint gas after 2 or 3 rds he could just never pull the trigger againt once he hit mayweather.that was mayweather's fault why shane fought that way.but in reality he did the best he could at the time of the fight, but for me mosley on has a punchers chance now.atleast the last thing to go is your power when you start to fade, mosley will still have some speed but his reflexes and him pulling the trigger is what i think about the most.not to mention mosley grew up in cali fighting all the mexicans and now he has a mexican style to me.well his dad calls it power boxing, mosley and manny would be ok i think for as long as it last.atleast mosley would do better then margo and cotto put together which would make it a 8rds to 4 for manny if it went all 12.

believe it or not berto is the man to beat, but i know on paper it dont mean as much as the other 2 guys, but berto is real good slick boxer.

if you want what the are realistically considering it would look like:

    Pacquiao vs Mosley at 147lbs
    Pacquiao vs Mosley at 147lbs
    Pacquiao vs Mosley at 147lbs

Berto's about as slick as Micky Ward ffs.

Do you guys consider any black fighter to be "slick"?

    Was Iran Barkley "slick"?

    Berto is not remotely slick.

You know who's slicker than cat **** on a hot Sunday afternoon is that Allan Green. ...And, of course...Pacman duckin' him.
