Pacquiao vs Prime Hearns at Welterweight. (No catchweights) Honestly Who wins?

noone can PROVE that Pac doesn't have a shot against Hearns cause it's just a fantasy matchup. Logically Hearns beats Pacquiao but all this talk of KO within 6, it's just not happening.

 

Yep plus he is open for the big right hand to land.
plus look at the height and reach difference, pac would get beat like probably anyone else at welter.

True enough. What does it mean then if the TS's whole premise of discrediting Pac as an ATG is dependent on a fantasy match up?

 

This is like saying Hearns best weight was MIDDLEWEIGHT! and then comparing him to people their. Manny is a solid welterweight, but he was a MUCH BETTER LIGHTWEIGHT! He is not an ATG great welter by any means. 135 pounds is Mannys ideal weight, Hearns is at 147.

 

This fight does take guys at opposite ends of the spectrum in their careers. Manny fought at fly, Hearns at cruiser.

Manny would be at a tremendous physical advantage, the reach difference is enormous.

I dont hate Manny but I really wouldnt give him a chance here, nor any current guys at 147.

Hearns is just too big for Pacquiao, Manny would get a hell of a beating.

You can compare these guys pound for pound but head to head Pacquiao isn't supposed to be able to deal with a guy like Hearns, he started at flyweight ffs.

As great as Pac has been dominating a particular style. There are still questions on how Pac handles guys with elite hand speed.

 

Hearns = black and you also said Prime Hearns so since we know Pac never fights prime fighters and the blacks he did face were either past their primes like Mosely and werent good to began with like Clotty.

Add this together and you get a first round murder by Hearns with just his jab

 

Hearns late KO or UD. Hearns is just too much for Pacquiao IMO.

He is destroying drained and damaged fighters coming from devastating loses, they are talking about a prime Hearns no catcht weight, a 144lbs Cotto, a 150lbs Margarito (he couldn't make 147 any longer) is not the same that a full fledge WW like the hitman.

 

Duran is a top 10 atg with an amazing chin, there's no way he'd get KOed within 3 rounds against Hearns :nut

I'd go with Hearns

However Hearns had a tendency in the late rounds to lose his legs, his would turn to rubber and he would fold

Manny if he survived would apply enough pressure to take the legs away
