I may have been generous to Rios in scoring the last fight, and I thought the first fight had a slightly premature stoppage. However, all things considered I've got the fight 1-0-1. I don't see how Alvarado deserves the Pac fight more. Nobody deserves anything. We're talking about a comeback fight for Pac. A fight that should invigorate confidence, bolster his reputation,be action-packed, and provide bring the most revenue. This is what Rios offers over Alvarado.

They are both coming off a loss. Pacquiao is coming off of two losses and Rios off of one. Pacquiao vs. Rios is still a better fight than Robert Guerrero vs. Floyd Mayweather.

But Pac is coming off a layoff and brutal KO loss. So it's comparable. Actually no it's not. Rios-Pac will actually be a much more entertaining fight for however long it lasts. You look like a partisan tool complaining about this fight.

To be honest the Mayweather fans who bigged up the Guerrero fight coming into this thread abusing Rios are pathetic. Pacquaio is coming off two losses this is one the best available fights he can have at this moment.

I'm sort of weirdly excited about the prospect of a Macau fight. That's an untapped venue. It has the potential to the be the Las Vegas of the East.

How so? Because he beat the amazing Andre Berto? Because of all of those amazing interim titles he picked up along the way of jumping weight classes in which he never bothered remaining in to beat any one worth of note?

Guerrero has never been considered a threat at these higher weights. He was correctly being discussed in the mix with Khan, Alexander, Maidana, etc, but that's it. Then all of a sudden that was skipped and he prematurely became a legit opponent for Mayweather after beating an overhyped Berto that was still suffering from his Ortiz nightmares.

I'm hearing we will see Alvarado vs Provodnikov early next year. Mike's manager confirmed he will be out the rest of 2013.

I agree. Rios will always give Pac a tougher fight than what Alvarado would.

This is about as good as the Guerrero fight. Good tune-up, solid championship level fighter. Alvarado was a bit more of a stylistic challenge, but now that I think about it, Rios will probably test Pac's legs and movement more and possibly test his chin.
