I'm hoping for Manny's last hurrah. But I think Spence is too strong and will bully him. Hopefully Manny can surprise him and hurt him with a sneaky punch from a crazy angle. We'll see.
Rummy, you are the Champion in recess of the Boxing Forum 24 universe! I have Spence with an 80% chance of winning via UD against a slowed down old Pac. I have Pac with a 20% chance of out boxing, outspeeding Spence in a Thurman type performance. Question: how many southpaws has Spence fought?
Can't see this ending well for Pac. Spence would have troubled any version of him to some extent, and today's version is going to be busted up and stopped. I think this will be his Pac/ODLH, only Pac is the ODLH this time.
Life goes full circle sometimes and I see Pacquaio ending up like ODLH was with him. An old 42 year old, inactive Pacquaio getting chewed up and pulled out.
What irks me the most is Spence not mixing it up with Crawford. We have such a unique opportunity that comes once a generation where you have championship caliber fighters competing in the same division only several years apart in age and not mixing it up in a fine mosaic of memorable battles. Kinda makes you respect Danny Garcia for taking on Spence, Porter and Thurman. While not on the same level we could have seen what Hearns, Hagler, Duran, SRL, Benitez brought us. The generation after that was DLH, Trinidad, Mosely, Forrest etc.
If he wins, would you consider him the goat? For me, SRR will always be my default no. 1, but if Pac pulls it off, I think I'd put him at 2.
No, if Pac beats Spence Jr he isn't the goat, he is nowhere near in my opinion. He will never be the goat, every time Pacquaio wins it just makes Mayweathers resume look better and better. It's like every time Canelo wins, Mayweathers resume looks better.
i never thought that if floyd beat him it meant he was better. it meant he was better at 147. they arent the same size, thats not a fair barometer. just like comparing pac and loma. yes, technically they could both fit into the definition of a lightweight if they had to, for whatever particular point someone is trying to make, but they aint the same guy physically. floyd is bigger than pac, and pac is bigger than loma.
I don't agree with this logic. That's like saying that every time Hopkins was winning his big fights after losing to Jermain Taylor twice then it just makes Taylor's resume look better and better. Doesn't make Taylor a greater fighter than Hopkins. Pacquiao beating Spence will only elevate Pac further up in ATG status.
