In terms of Thurman not being able to set up his shots well, yes, Thurman only landed on Manny when he had his hands up and was doing nothing and a lot of those shots didn`t land clean, Fouts stated that Manny was too keen to land the counter right hook though.
not being able to set up his shots well, is one of those fancy phrases people say when they dont understand beyond that. it means nothing.
If anything he missed the most important point and that is pacs stamina, so did I. Without that factor, Pac would have washed Thurman. Pac didn’t have the stamina to finish Thurman, didn’t have it to move his legs where he wanted to at the pace he wanted to create angles and get away from shots, couldn’t get off when he wanted, so many opportunities he couldn’t take. Shows how good cotto was to put up a fight against an absolute peak pacquiao who was 3x the fighter he was today.
Thurman landed a lot of good hard counters on Pacquiao, and some very well set up leads from feints and movement. But the truth is Thurman really only had success here when pacquiao slowed down in the second half. Pacquiao is a tremendous fighter.
Agreed. When I said "bad" what I meant was "bad for Pac", ergo Pac will catch him on the pedal and that's exactly what happened -- and you can argue that also dictated the rest of the fight. Excellent points on Pac just playing it smart and outwitting Thurman though, which is exactly what happened. I originally thought Thurman will be the one with the smarts, but hey, you can't beat experience I guess.
It depends on who you ask. Those Floydettes will tell you Pac is nothing but a roid monster with no boxing knowledge. There's no way any of the top welters have more ring experience and knowledge than Pac. He's fought more atg then all of them combined.
What else is new, again this and that will KO Pac and then after the fight, ah this and that is shot, too slow, etc.. Gimme a break. Both Danny and Porter was beaten by ThurBoy - ALREADY. FACT !
