If 40 year old Manny beats 30 year old Thurman where does this rate regarding old men beating younger champions? And how would it improve the legacy of Manny?

    Somewhere below Foreman vs Moorer

It might help his legacy a little bit, at least in longevity, but Thurman is a cheese champion in my eyes

Very highly. A knock against it though is that Thurman hasn't been very active in the past couple of years and it could have affected his growth as a top level fighter during his prime.

Thurman is still not proven like an elite.. The thing is a heavyweight at 40 is much different than a welterweight at 40.. Heavyweights are slow and somewhat lazy, so fighting them is not the same as fighting a guy at 147 at 40 years old. Hopkins is the only one who can compare to Manny.
