Manny Pacquiao wants Miguel Cotto to be slapped a penalty of $1 million per pound in the event the Puerto Rican fails to make the agreed catch weight of 145 lbs for their Nov. 14 fight in Las Vegas.
What are your opinion's on this? I think Cotto will make weight fine.

Just doing his due diligence. I don't think anything is wrong with it.

That's pretty normal, and stretches way back into boxing history.

    No big deal, normal practice.

Yes but a million dollars per pound seems a but excessive, although there really are not set rules for how much the fine will be and it's very rarely in the contract up front.

Doesn't JMM want Floyd fined for every pound over? Does that mean he's scared?:bart And you have it backwards, COTTO is gonna get his ass handed to HIM.

Yeah but not a mill per pound. Never seen it that high before.

Castillo got fine a few million in the first Corrales fight and he was only over by like a pound or 2. It just wasn't in the contract up front.

Castillo was over by 3 1/2 pounds and was fined $120,000. Also, it was in their 2nd fight - both met the limit in the first battle.
