 At this moment he does but yeah that's some BS. Cotto doesn't have Oscar money to pay the fine. He'll be concentrating on making weight instead of the actual fight. Pac by KO

With Evangelista Cotto suing Miguel for an alleged eleventy billion dollars, I doubt he has the cash lying around to risk not making weight.

But 1lb is so easy right?

He should of been able to lose an extra lb right?

You're a jackass! Not even arguing whether or not the catchweight is fair, just discussing the fine.

Well you agree to the weight, meet it or be fined, seems fair. Cotto can impose something on Pac too. Otherwise if there is no penalty, Cotto could come in at 160 on weigh in and no probs...unless Pac chooses to cancel fight.

The fine would be imposed regardless. Pac can cancel, and Cotto would still be fined.

I hate Pacquiao now... bitching Cotto's a million $ for an extra pound.
This guy is a great fighter but... what a ****

This is a normal part of negotiating. Like I said, the amount seems high, it's usually 10%,

I wasn't hating on you. I was making a point for the thread. You posted his weight and that he was fine 200k$.

That's a lot of money. Why would Castillo lose 1lb more if it was so easy to save on money?

And in a way, Castillo is STILL paying money with every fight he has. I believe Corrales' wife gets a cut every time.

Pac simply wants to be assured that the terms agreed upon by both parties will be followed, what's wrong with that? Cotto would not pay anything if he would come no more that 145 lb, how's that ridiculous?

And Pac is taking extra precautions that both men stay true to their word, they will both weigh in at 145 and below. If Cotto didnt want that, he didnt have to accept it. Remember, Pac wanted 142-143 and settled for 145, he just wants both fighters to stick true to it. I dont care if he imposes 100000000$$$ per lb over...its irrelevant so long as both men stick to their 145 limit.
