Pacquiao was further from his prime, than Morales in 2006

Twas a warrior's last hurrah when Terrible beat Pac. A win that he had to dig deep. The wars had clearly taken its toll on his warrior's body: only the blind can't see that. Pac is wild, uni-dimensional and yes, green--and Morales is a smart and proven veteran to capitalize on that-- clearly yet barely-- if one might add, for the win.

The 2nd fight was very competitive in the first 5 rounds, it looked like a continuation of the first fight, until the mid-rounds. One element that many seemed to overlook however on the Pac-EM 2 trilogy is the much improved strategy: feints and the more emphasized body punching of Pac (at least compared to Fight 1)--which may have had an accumulative effect on Terrible beginning on the 6th rd where he began complaining that his legs were 'gone...'

Coming off a win over Barrera and a draw over Marquez, the two best 126lbs fighters on the planet at the time. Boggles the mind but then again, it's what we've come to expect from his fanbase.

But you can't say that they people that are claiming that Pacquiao wasn't in his prime were lying. The old Pacquiao only relies on right jab-left straight combination. Right Pacquiao uses different angles to land his punches not to mention his body is much more ripped than he was in the lower weight class.

If you don't get it the first time don't read it again because you won't be able to comprehend it no matter how many times you read it. Do you know why?

    To the threadstarter:

If manny was THAT green..then how come he got his ass kicked by marquez AGAIN just a couple years ago??

his lack of performance against a drained cotto and a nobody in clottey basically showed that he is NOT that far from that morales fight..

Morales was a drained dehydrated skeleton in the rematch and manny was possibly on steroids AND PAC GOT HIS CHOICE OF GLOVES TOO..and what happened?

Morales was winning IN ALL 3 JUDGES SCORECARDS halfway into the fight..even the commentators were saying it was erik's legs and energy that lost him that fight..Morales was basically running on fumes in that fight he still gave pacquiao a run..

yet manny gets praised like jesus when he won the rematch something he SHOULDVE done in the first fight...he was the favorite heading into his first encounter with erik...

at 130 Morales DESTROYED manny at pac's "best" weight class..
at 126 Morales wouldve OBLITERATED pacquiao with ease
    at 122......Morales by Fatality...

He sure did get his ass kicked lol. Rematching a counter puncher at his prefered weight and winning a decision (by 1 point margin arguably, in any case, it was a close fight).

In 2006, after 8 years as a pro, it is impossible that Pacman was green.

After Morales defeated Pac, it was obvious he wasn't his usual self when he fought and lost to Raheem. Manny definitely in his prime when he lost to Morales. The version of today I think is his peak, where he might be at his best in his career, but he was definitely in his prime ever since he obliterated Ledwaba. You could say skillwise Manny was raw, but not green my friend.:good
