This Vargas had noticeable height and reach advantage on Pacman. Not only that but he actually used these attributes in the fight. Vargas spent 90 percent of the fight on the backfoot. He was making Manny come to him. I was getting annoyed at one point. This is a fight! Vargas is the bigger taller longer man, he should have been coming forward more!!
He caught Pac on the grill hard a few times lol I wanted to see Vargas catch Pac with that mean haymaker he hit Bradley with. But it never happened. Manny barely blinked everytime Vargas rocked him. Good competitive fight.
He was in against a flat-footed, slow fighter without the power to KO Pac - it was supposed to make him look good and it didn't.
This just shows that for the last 10 years there has been mostly small guys coming to welter chasing money.
Vargas fought the best fight he could've fought and it just wasn't enough. There are levels to this ****. Vargas coming forward would've been worse for him and was fighting the right style.
Not sure what fight you watched. Vargas was plenty competitive. The judge that had it 114-113 was about right. I could see that or 115-112
doesnt matter. the judges had pac the winner before the fight started. he didn't even have to do anything to get the win.
This was the reason he passed on Crawford to look good enough against a lite puncher to get fans hype enough to request a rematch. Vargas was hitting Manny with lead right hands, that right there proved that Manny is a done deal. Even former Pac-Man hypers are not wanting to see that rematch because of his performance last night.
Yeah, that's it. I was being lazy and freestyled it. 118-109 was very lopsided also because Vargas put up some good punch stats in the mid rounds.
yea the 118-=109 score would amke you think it was a dominant fight that manny looked good in. but in all honesty he looked terrible and if he runs into crawford or garcia next i can see him getting stopped. Floyd may even stop him as well. He needs to grab this win and retire IMO he's not a killer anymore.
Vargas had his moments. And if there's one positive from it, is that he was more effective than I thought he would be. Close fight with Pac doing a little more to win the rounds.
