Well yea Floyd is more of a natural 135 pounder. Beyond that weight and he was more easily "muscled around". But Floyd did benefit in having a larger frame which was more suited to climb weight. He was 5'8" with a 72 inch reach and broad shoulders. Pac was 5'5.5" with 67 reach and narrow shoulders. But yea considering that Floyd started at 130 it's not very wise to say that he's a natural 147 pounder.

He won 8 division titles and beat Barrera, Marquez, Morales and Cotto. Floyd wasn't involved with any of that.

I tried my best to stay away from this thread. Floyd's name was thrown so I had to just tell it like it is.

The guy was weighing in the 140s when fighting at 126.

He was enormous at the weight

Would you be up for explaining why you think that?
I have always suspected he was at his absolute best at 135 or most probably 140 where a cerebral fighter like him benefited from experience, and was still the better athlete with decent enough size and having developed his inside-game further. This being better than a young, inexperienced Mayweather who relied a lot on athletic attributes against notably non-athletic opposition at 130 and not as comfortable as an all-terain fighter.

That makes his achievements all the more great.
He didnt get raised by a top contender fighter and multiweight world champion boxer, with connections in the boxing world, its a miracle he ever made it pro never mind doing what he did.
He basically grew up with nothing, and with no links at all to the boxing world, was fighting pro from age what ? 15 or so.
He was raw when he got to roach, who ironed out a lot of his flaws.
For an incomplete fighter,he sure gave cotto, hatton barerra morales etc a good hiding.

A very special boxer. It surprised how much bigger and better he got after the morales fight. In the first fight he lost and then in the rematches he just seemed too good and too strong, which was hugely different when they first fought just a year before. Full of energy and power.
