Pacquiao was supposed to fail at any weight higher than 126 pounds

Manny is bar none, one of the biggest tools of exploitable fabrication in boxing history. He was a nice little fad while it lasted and why it was even effective was due mostly to the hate held for Floyd which is still more relevant over Manny today.

There use to be like 40 Manny fanboys on this site (all with the same avatar lmao). They all are mostly gone. I give tinman credit as he's the only one who's been here the whole time. I think I saw Gander Tasco post here maybe a couple of months ago. Farmboxer doesn't even talk about Manny anymore who was nothing but a tool to spite Floyd with. He now focuses on Ward hate.

If Manny was really as prescribed, there would be more tinman around which is cold irony. His name is actually a great synonym for people who use to pose as Manny fans while he was hot but fled when the ship sanked lmao.

As a Chris Brown would say. These garden tools (don't want to be banned) aren't loyal. This song explains a Manny "fan" to a "T". Mild trolling but very factual.

This all said Manny did do some great things but a fad is a fad.

That eighth division title was a catchweight fight between two fighters that were not even ranked at the title weight. Unless you are truly a Pac stan, that eighth title is a farce!

You know somebody has to fight for a vacant belt. It's atypical for a vacated belt to just be awarded to a fighter without a bout taking place for it.

Umm... Pacquiao was the most exciting fighter, most anticipated fighter and 2nd biggest draw behind DLH all the way back in his Featherweight days. Long before Mayweather was even considered as an opponent because Mayweather is a much bigger man. You know that's how that stuff sort of goes in boxing. Size matters which is why an 8 division conquest is such a big deal.

Pacquiao still has a lot of fans man. It's just that he's no longer on top anymore. He's past it. All past it fighters don't have massive fanboy followings anymore. Ray Robinson is the GOAT I don't see all his massive fans up in here. Nor do I see Ali fans, Hagler fans, Jones Jr. fans, etc. all still posting about them regularly.

Typically, the fighters that fight for a vacant belt are ranked at the belt weight division.

In a typical case yes, but considering that Pacquiao was p4p #1 I guess they made an allowance for him to jump up 1 division and fight for a vacant belt.

Stan status confirmed!! Margarito was one fight of a year suspension and Pac had never fought at 154. This was probably the most BS title fight in boxing history, and that's saying something. lol I guess Lomachenko should fight Salido for a vacant belt at 175 and that would be legit to you.

In any case in the OP I clearly in the 1st sentence never alluded to Pacquiao going all the way up to 154 pounds. The letters "150" are in the first sentence.

Tinman where are all your buddies? Once Floyd got out of top Prank it was a wrap. Floyd at times was fighting for 2000 dollars a fight with Bob telling him he basically didn't have potential to be a big star to eventually becoming the highest paid athlete. Bob even admitted he was at fault for not being able to relate to Floyd. Manny is still alive unlike majority of fighters and it's not even 2 years past doomsday when he became #48. I still admire your loyalty.

I thought you said "8" division titles. I must have misread your post. My mistake.

Pacquiao has plenty of loyal fans, it's just that he's the old Manny Pacquiao anymore. He's at the point of his career where he's well past it. No knockouts in 8 years. No major wins since Cotto and Margarito which was 7-8 years ago.

This was the first paragraph of my OP.

"126 pounds was thought to be his upper limit and Pac carried championship caliber fighting all the way to 150 pounds."

Yes and you tried making comparisons to guys who are either dead (RIP) or have been 30 or more years removed from the game. Just saying.
