no need to imagine, theyre hanging from the rafters. i dont know if its because his footwork isnt evasive all the time, so they think it cant be or what. i have no problems seeing how quickly he positions himself in the spots he wants to be, for what hes doing. and its not like hes fought every fighter the same way every time. hes clearly shown what he can do when its what he wants to do. i just dont get it either.

Of course he DESTROYS Spence, he beat a SHOT BROOK and is moving back down to 140. You believe in Bud more than he believes in himself

 

Yeah he has an aggressive style he'll never be the super mobile, constantly moving type fighter, his foot work is fine for the style he has. He uses very economical foot work to hover on the edge of range and often steps back a little to create space to counter punch. Everything about him is offensively minded even when stepping back.

Now that doesn't mean he won't come unstuck if he ever faces a fighter than moves well laterally to create angles. We saw some of Porter's movement at times see him get picked off at range by a much shorter fighter and we will likely see Pac's use of angles too give Spence problems too.

We also know Spence is far less effective on the back foot when he's been pushed back much of his offense is neutralised and that's partly down to his wide stance. But to call him a plodder is just inaccurate, he actually has pretty quick feet it's just he sets his feet so wide to create power and that of course limits his movement. I think he'll struggle with Pac's rushes as his wide stance will limit how quickly he can step back, his counter game will need to be on point if he isn't to get backed up by this.

There will be Tons , and I mean TONS of very silly excuses after the Pacman Beats Spence.

I can't wait to see who gives the stupidest lame excuse for the flat-footed Spence....

 

Exactly he does what he needs to the best footwork is minimal it shouldn't jump off the screen at all times. Spence is great at controlling distance and is always in position to throw shots with meat on them.

 

thats what im saying. his game is to pressure you, wear you out, impose his advantages on you. he wants you completely focused all the time, knowing that if you blink hes close enough to dent your chin. that wears a fighter out. he cant do that if every time someone swings at him he skips 5 feet away. what people dont see, is that he is perfectly capable of using his legs as well as floyd did, he just dont fight that way. it doesnt serve his purpose. hes stronger than you, better conditioned than you, bigger than you, busier than you...why would he want to dance around you all night?

 

moving back against a fighter trying to get in range is exactly how he outboxed mikey. it was textbook. he got into exchanges the first couple rds, and mikey timed him a couple times, so he just took mikeys range away from him. i know some people remember that fight all kinds of ways, but it was mikey on the front foot moving forward for the majority of the fight, with spence moving back to the proper position to catch a fighter stepping into YOUR range. i wish more people could see all that was happening so they could better appreciate the nuances in what these fighters do, or dont do.
