Pacquiao will outdo Floyd head to head and ruin any possibility of the fight

    * Rooney said the ticket sales (live gate) don't matter and the PPV is all that matters. I don't agree. One of the main reasons the Pac-Clottey fight is going to be held at Cowboys Stadium is because the live gate is going to be gigantic. Pacquiao almost certainly will get some percentage of the live gate. For Pacquiao's wallet and for future negotiation power, the live gate/ticket sales will mean a lot. Being able to sell-out, or come close, a 40,000-seat stadium -- especially in the USA -- is very meaningful for a modern-day fighter.

    * Many of the fans who order Mayweather PPV's do so, presumably, to watch Floyd lose. Unless PBF fights someone whom those fans feel can beat him (i.e., not Paulie Malignaggi, etc), then the PPV sales are likely to be down considerably.

    * Mayweather is notorious for "piggybacking" on fighters who are known draws to give the appearance of his having more drawing power than he actually does. Good examples of this are the De La Hoya, Hatton and Gatti fights.

The only fighter with any kind of "following" among those being mentioned so far as possible PBF opponents is Malignaggi, who could probably sell some PPV's along the Long Island/NYC/New Jersey corridor. But Malignaggi is not an exciting fighter. And the general public doesn't know about, or care about, guys like Kermit Cintron.

    * Floyd has to pray that HBO decides to carry his fight. If he doesn't get the 24/7 backing for his event, the PPV numbers could be pretty bad if Team PBF decides to even fight that date at all should HBO pick Pac.

    * bladerunner mentioned that Floyd is fighting in March so as to avoid a showdown with Shane Mosley. That could be the case, as well as to try to do some damage to Pacquiao's PPV sales out of spite.

Fraud is going to ruin Balquiaos career without facing him. Floyds already proved he sells more PPVs than Manny.
