its an old saying, and its expected that 'youve got to take the title from the champ'. in other words, the benefit of the doubt always goes to the champ. now, regardless of what title they were fighting for manny is seen as 'the' champ. he is the money figure, he puts bums on seats and fight regular.

Gotta remenber, its not just about what manny is worth to TR...it goes much deeper. He is worth millions to HBO and the las vegas economy in general.

    The judges know that.....

I don't know, if he did then that demonstrates how pointless compubox is because according to some fans that would then mean Marquez didn't win a round.
I just rewatched the fight, the HBO telecast.... no wonder some people actually think Manny won, I've never heard such biased commentary in my life. From the start they were acting like Marquez had no right to be in the same ring with the 'God' Manny. They were blaming Marquez for losing afterwards by coasting in the later rounds and not being aggressive enough, Marquez stuck to a gameplan the whole fight. Marquez is a counter puncher who rightfully believed he was winning the fight at that point, why would he come out and start brawling? I had the 12th even anyway, I couldn't separate them.
Now I know where the ******ed talk on the general forum comes from, they just repeat the bull**** that Lampley, Steward and Kellerman come up with. Those ****ers don't even seem interested in the fight or calling it how they see it, in their bored voices they talk about how fast Manny is or how he's developed as a fighter over they years while Marquez is landing clean shots on Manny, then Manny lands a glancing punch and Lampley makes sure he notices that and claims that Manny is landing the hard punches this round and that he should win it.
They don't add anything to the fight. Steward has to be the most boring **** in the history of commentating, he doesn't know **** and he's always talking as if he knows everything and everything that's going to happen. Showtime **** on HBO when it comes to commentating.
