No way. That one punch that bothered Pacman would of been multiplied by a prime Chavez. At least a 135lb version. Higher than 135 the tables turn and then it would favor Pacquiao. Whitaker would surely frustrate Pacquiao and all I have to say is it would be very close. These are ATG elites your talking about that beat great fighters in their primes and just like Pacman were masters at what they did, not past their primes or broken fighters. Huge possibility Pacman could lose to them also.

Best answer so far. I have to tilt the other extreme because these guys have surely not seen Pea fight and some of his fights were close. Now hes supposed to be this unbeatable fighter. Newsflash, most people consider Pacquaio greater than him at this point and theres a reason for it. Anything can happen, heck Ive seen Mexicans pick against Chavez against Pac and Pinoys embarrased when they see Pac by KO.

This fantasy matchups annoys me because of the bias towards old schoolers.

One thing Id say, Pac may have stylistic advantage over Pea moreso than people think. Not so much against JCC who might have an adv over Pac if its a brawl.

Remember Clottey and Margarito are tall fighters so Pac's power is degraded a little. His right hook would be deadly against whitaker and chavez both smaller. He is too good for any of these guys because of his blazing hand speed. It would be impossible to not get hit in a fight with Manny. Impossible.

Reserve judgment until after the Mayweather fight. If he can crack the Mayweather code, then I'll firmly believe that he can crack any fighter's code in history because the master boxer is the only remaining style for Pac to face and solve.

Floyds a different fighter technically better defensively. Pernells dipsy doodle style may cause him more trouble than good because Pac attacks from diff angles. Also Floyds got more power than Pea to keep Pac at bay. But I mostly agree with you.

I like to think Pacquiao's speed movement, angles and power would have been too much for Chavez - but Whitaker might have danced circles around him. That would have been a dream fight!

But this is what I mean. Dance circles and do what? jab? Peas got no right hand that would trouble pac and his jab, its good but lets be honest, Pac invites big welters like clottey and MArgo to hit him in the face and he never buckles. You can say that Pea will dance all night but Pac has never failed to lay gloves on anyone. Aggression will be the key in scoring.

You're saying emmanuel would be on his bicycle while Chavez would cut the ring off to hunt him down?

Whitaker was a great, great fighter but as good as he was I believe Pac should be regarded as the better fighter. Whitaker isn't as fast, doesn't throw as many punches, doesn't hit as hard as Pacquiao, better boxer is fine but when you don't have any of the others mentioned you're in trouble.

Chavez has great body shots granted but Pacquiao would try and crush him coming in ala Ricky Hatton.

Just shut up you dont know **** about boing chimba. You make that clear with every post.

How exactly did Whitaker dominate for a decade, beat hofers and ATG's if opponents didnt respect his power. :patsch He had the best footwork of his era, could box off the back foot better then anyone in history.

Power doesnt have anything to do with it. Its about timing. Marquez boxed the **** out Pacquiao. Whitaker is 5 times the fighter Marquez is. And 5 times the boxer Pacquiao is.

Pacquiao struggled walking down Cotto. Was eating counters. He beats a couple of slow plodders who dont move and he's ready for Whitaker. Do we need to go over what Pacquiao looked like when he faces fighters who can actually get out of the way of punches? Fighters who throw punches in bunches.

in welterweight, pacquiao might get a decision over chavez...but anything under welterweight chavez would have knocked pacquiao out...

    FACT
