Well I certainly don't believe that. Armstrong could be beaten. But knocked out? The man survived a whole fight against Ray Robinson.

He might win a tight decision but he would knock out a prime and durable Hank Armstrong. I think Armstrong wears him down late from constant pressure and solid pressure. Also, Armstrong was better on the inside where I think this fight will end up.

Eh, it's likely Robinson was carrying Hank.

Do you think so? Did Robinson actually confirm this?

I don't have a strong opinion on it or this fight one way ora nother. But supposedly Robinson had unbelievable respect for Hank, and on top of that I believe the fight was a 10 rounder.

Robinson actually went into later fights with a mean streak against fighters who had given Hank hell.

All accounts agree (including both Robinson and Armstrong themselves) that Robinson warily kept his distance and steadfastly refused to engage Hank.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean he was deliberately "going easy" on him and allowing him to last the distance. Just as likely, he was simply sticking to the gameplan he needed to use to win, and not taking any chances against a guy who was still considered a very dangerous infighter. Armstrong reportedly wobbled Robinson at one point early in the fight, and it was after that that Robby strictly stayed on his bicycle.

I've read quotes from robinson confirming this, armstrong was past prime and was robinson hero and he didn't want to hurt him. Whether its true or not who knows but a fight report i've read did seem to confirm it

Disagree. Armstrong (an ATG) is very underated on this board.

You people are getting to high on this little asian Pac right? Because he has fought his whole career without fighting a black guy, because he beat up overrated Mexicans like De La Hoya, because he beat up slow highly overrated guys like Ricky Hatton.

Its getting into serious depths now. lol.

Fine, Hank was KO'd in his first bout... and another time.. maybe 150 fights later by Zivic. Pacs a great fighter, with great power, great hands and great ability.

If he gets Knocked out by anyone, within the next 12 months, his entire credibility will be erased.

RJJ had awesome credentially... De La Hoya was a Phenomenon.... Etc.Etc.Etc..

    How quickly they were forgotten/discredited.

I scribed last night.. Pac has left a huge impact... Armstrong left a fkn CRATER..

In 12 months, the 'impact' will be circled by dust. My thoughts today.

Armstrong would knock out Pacquiao worse than Rustico Torrecampo did.
