Why would it be necessary for Pacquiao to counter Mosley?

Mosley's defence is so awful, Pacquiao wouldn't even need to wait for a counter punching opportunity to get his shot. He'd simply take it to him, and wait for him to gas out as quickly as he did last night. Poor Shane would be caught up in a tornado, and left as hopeless as he was against Mayweather.

If Mosley had performed the same, Pac would've been KTFO in round 2.

****in bull****. Pac punches are like a laser. Super fast and accurate.

Ricky Hatton Ko. A perfectly placed, accurate as hell punch. Give him his due, he's the best offensive fighter in the game, Mayweather is the best defensive fighter bar none in the game.

A great defensive fighter beats a great offensive fighter. Pac loses against Mayweather but at least give him his due.

We will never find out. I saw Mosley afraid to throw punches because he was getting countered silly. None of his punches were landing after the second round either. The style and skillset of your opponent can make a big difference as to how you look. Just look at Hopkins. He looked horrible against Calzaghe. It looked like he was shot, and had zero stamina. Roach said he needed to retire. This lead to Pavlik being a 5/1 favorite over Hopkins. We all saw what happened. You cannot discount the possiblity that Shane only looked this bad because of who was fighting.

Pacquiao would not have seen 'last nights Shane Mosley' because he's not Floyd Mayweather.

mosley would have hit a MORE hittable Pacman through the fight and BUSTEd Pac up pretty good. Josh Clottey who barley threw any punches busted Pac up good. Mosley would have stopped Pac in 8 rounds IMO.

  7. If Pacquiao couldn't finish Mosley himself, the referee surely would. Shane had absolutely nothing last night.

That punch was thrown from Pacquiao's hip. If he wasn't facing a guy who leaves the right side of his face wide open when he throws a left hook, it would've never landed. I'm not saying Pac isn't a sharp or accurate puncher. However, he's not as sharp or accurate as Mayweather. I don't know how you can say otherwise.

Not really. The onus is on Team Mayweather to resolve this debacle, as it is their demands which are holding up this fight. The most simple and fair way to do this, would be to let the Nevada State Athletic Commission (a neutral group) decide whether these demands are necessary or not. I heard in a thread somewhere that they're reviewing the Mayweather/Mosley testing, to get a better understanding of it's procedures, and whether they can learn anything from it.

Maybe, but the fact of the matter is that his stamina was pretty ****ed in the early rounds. If your cardio isn't up to scratch when you go to bat against Pac, you're asking to get destroyed.

I think pacquaio would have probably won but i'm not 100% certain about it. He would be pressing the action from the get go, mosley would probably have liked to see that more than facing a clever boxer like mayweather. Pacquaio does have defensive frailties, he is there to be hit and shane would land a decent amount. I think they would have slugged it out for a few rounds, the question is how would pac take clean hard fast punches from shane. He never been hit by anyone who comes close to mosley power.

If pac could ride out the 1st few rounds he would have pulled away late on, maybe got a stoppage though i'm not sure. But i could also see shane having taken him out early though don't favour it.

Pac wins, but he doesn't destroy Mosley. And he does dominant in greater fashion than Floyd.

I can almost guarentee you that Pacquiao will be taking the tests. Mayweatheer has the moral highground. If Pacquiao is clean, what does it hurt for him to take the tests? I hope Nevada does step in and insitute the option for olympic stlye testing. That will make it a lot easier to make the fight. Either way, it still will get made, and Pacquiao will take the tests.

Pacq would win handidly because he's really not the type to get hit with wide punches. Mosley's power punches are wide.

He was getting tired because he was missing his shots and fighting real tight. Mayweather had a lot to do with that. Regardless, Pacquiao opted not to fight Mosley when he had the chance. He needs to just go ahead, take the tests, and fight Mayweather.
