Pacquiao's fame in the Mexican community really intrigues me.

The word on the street is that any Mexican fan who is rooting for PAc because Dlh didn't give Margarito a big money fight is a sell out.

I dont think Oscar ducked Tszyu. Oscar chins is no way comparable to Zab and Hoya at that time was way quicker than Tszyu.

Oscarsexual of ESB. Oscar avoided guys like Tszyu, Forrest, Margarito and Wright, for a reason. He is all about the biggest $$$ for the least amount of risk. Thats why he chose the Old Lion. But it was a mistake. remember Trevor Berbick when he beat Ali the last time out. He was all but forgotten in that arena afterwards.

I think it makes good sense. When Oscar came to the scene many guys who's girls or wifes never had any interest to the sport all of a sudden became boxing fans because of Oscar. A girl would say some thing like "he's cute" or "he's handsome" and us guys would say "**** that guy, I hope he gets his pretty faced ****ed up" . Than factor in the fact that he could kick your ass and take your girl and then you could see how some people could be jealous of Oscar.:-((

i know exactly what you mean bro. he seemed like a likable guy at first, but those fights with JCC were unneccessary and when he got married with his his wife millie instead of receiving their fans they did the stupidest thing and covered them in blankets to prevent pictures from being taken after getting married. i'm ok with oscar's style, no complaints, but it's timing he does to fight his opponents, who are usually top quality, but well past it that bothers me. he did very good with quartey, and really that's his masterpiece. vargas got softened up by tito. but he also got the short end of the stick in the second shane fight and his fight with tito. salvador sanchez was loved in pr, jose napoles originally a cubano was loved and adopted by the mexican people as one of their own. oscar's not a complete ******* he did open a cancer research center in honor of his mom. he's hard to figure out sometimes

Except all that went out the ****ing window, rounds 9-12 against Trinidad. Then he became like the gay guy your girlfriend loves to go shopping with.

Maybe, if Oscar had been suppportive of some philantropic endeavors in Mexico, or maybe paid the construction of some shelters for the needy in ole' Mehiko, or say...send some boxing paraphernalia to some remote area in Mexico, then some Mexicans would surely love him. He is in the sports pages every now and then with write-ups about his wealth and lifestyle but how had he in anyway helped in the economy of his country of origin? After all, Mexico is still a part of the Third World...
