just noticed that pacquiao has his front foot placed with his toes facing pretty much dead straight from what ive seen most fighters have their ankle turned inwards is this what helps pacquiao with his great footwork or is it just a matter of what works for each fighter for example, mayweather and jones jr have their front foot turned at almost 90 degrees inwards
He squares up a bit too much for my liking. It's apart of the reason Timmeh was able to catch him with the jab with the body, a punch that typically isn't used against southpaws, throughout the fight. Squaring up allows him to shoot his left quicker. He's trigger happy and eager to brawl.
You're a ***get, but our friend Michael Gerard Tyson stood square with his peak-a-boo stance with this principle in mind.
really? no shite sherlock  tyson my favorite of all time. how dare a ***** mention his name floyd and tyson should never be mentioned in the same sentence ever until now since im trying to make a point i kind of find it funny a ***** calling me a ***. the irony
I know what you're talking about, that's a stylistic preference imo. 90 degrees inwards helps with defense, dead ahead helps you transition laterally my coach always told me to have it forward but I can see the advantage of either way
yeah i noticed that just by turning his foot in he wouldnt be as square but does his front foot being straight allow him to get in and out much quicker in the same way running with your foot straight is quicker (and less dangerous) than with your ankles turned in i know they r compleetly different things but does the principle apply for his stance but yeah it does square him up
No one mentioned your boyfriend in here but you. In fact, you're the only one in here with a Mayweather avatar. I bet you wish you were Larry that night
This is where Manny makes wrong right in his awkward way. He squares up very often and failing to turn the ankle inward inhibits the ability to make the body more angled, but many times, Manny bobs and weaves forward with the intention of pushing straight forward off his back foot before taking a step to the right with his lead foot. Nice gif. As shown it allows him to switch position during the punch whereas to do that with an inward ankle can offset your balance/footspeed
perhaps some HUGE manny pacquiao fans such as caneman, dodong, puga_ni_nana, pejevan, etc can come join us and explain the ins n outs of emmanuel's style
