Keeping the front foot angled forward is actually something that you see in fencing, too. I assume that it allows you to explode into a forward motion more easily, which is great for an offensive fighter like Pac who thrives on coming forward constantly. (Along with the fact that his best and favourite punch is a leaping straight left, which travels with a direct, forward motion.)

I'd also like to think that angling his lead foot would allow him to turn more easily to avoid the counter when he leads with the left.

Not if Manny had lead foot positioning. He showed a better capacity to anticipate counters like the check hook and open up the angle for his left straight down the middle:

"Garbage" :-( let's all pretend Manny didn't outbox a prime well-rounded boxer with handspeed and a good right hand.

Better example here . except he follows up with a hook:

He does square himself up a little bit - gives him better balance moving around.

    Another example here

That stance allows him to shoot out like this, pivot to the side while retaining his balance

No, JMM is a past-prime elite technical in-the-pocket counter-puncher with a complete punch arsenal and excellent in-range lateral movement. I'm talking about how people constantly say all you need is a good right hand and "boxing skills" (whatever that generic term means) to beat him, and Manny showed it takes more. Prove Bradley isn't prime, young, quick, and well rounded, or kindly shut the **** up.
