The man had cramp. Last fight is null and void and isn't canon. The last legit contest is UD Thurman. Man's still in the mix - bring on Spence and the other big wigs. 42 is young for a teetotal man of God.

This is how it will be, no one talks about a whole decade of Roberto Duran's career which ended in 2001.

I think the Manny story will basically end with the Mayweather fight, with an epilogue being that in 2019 he was still knocking off undefeated WW champs.

Nah it counts if he would have won you'd have 100 threads talking about he was the GOAT and it was the best win off all time. So when he doesn't win he has to take some criticism as well, he was the favorite. It counted, loss 8 to be exact.

At his age losses don't detract from his legacy tbh.

You're right but you can't have it both ways. Pac gets credit for pushing himself at this age and would received plenty of praise should he have won but at the end of the day, he failed and that goes on his record.

Of course it goes on his record, I'm just saying it doesn't get held against him.

It absolutely doesn't work both ways.

A 42 year old beating top rated guys is amazing. A 42 year old losing to top rated guys is fine, because you know in his prime he'd have handled them.

For Duran any thing after Barkley is pretty mull null and void.

Same with the GOAT SRR, loads of losses you wouldn't hold against him.

All it means is that at age 42 he is of this quality and didn't beat Ugas. Doesn't hurt his career legacy at all. Just won't quite be in talks of being the best 40+ boxers, as the one performance against Thurman had us wondering if could be the case.
