Somebody randomly asked me this one day and it stumped me. Now, I know this site is overrun by Pacquiao fans, but if you are a Pacquiao fan and know nothing of Kostya Tsyzu, please don't vote. Pacquiao gets plenty of instant accolades as it is. I want to know, honestly and sincerely, regardless of who you like, which is the harder and more devastating punch....Pacquiao's straight left or Tszyu's straight right? Prime vs. Prime, 140, of course. Please be objective.
Pac has a wider variety of punches, but no single punch that equals KT's right hand. Out of all the mythical matchups I can think of, KT-Pac has to be at the very top of the list of fights I would love to have seen.
I thought about this too. I'm fans of both boxers, but more toward Pac than Tszyu. They're about the same. Tszyu is more heavy handed, but Pac's punch is faster.
I'd go for Pac's straight left during his Featherweight days. I can compare that to an arrow; precise, fast and powerful.
And Pacquiao's faster punch translates into nighty-night time because, although Tszyu's right appears heavier and at least as straight, it is the punches that you don't see coming that hurt you the most. Had to pick Tszyu myself. I've just seen him cave too many heads in. He downright knocked guys senseless and into a loopy obvlivion during his brillian stint as a fighter.
Back then that was his bread and butter....a basic one followed by a murderous two. He was a bit one dimensional and relied heavily on this. No featherweight, and sure as hell no superbantamweight in the world seemed to be able to remain upright after being tagged with that straight left though, so it worked wonders for him, with exception of the first Erik Morales bout. Now, after many Freddie Roach crafted years later, he has surrounded that registered lethal weapon with an array of arsenal and trickery. But I don't feel that his straight left can knock guys silly at 140 or 147 the way Tszyu's did.
Tszyu.. Pac hits with accumulations until his opponents get Kayoed. Tszyu can KO any 1 with a 1-2 combo.. Look at what happend to Judah!) the chicken dance remember?
I could be diagnosed with alzeihmer's many years from now and there's still no way that one's slipping my memory. Not while I'm alive. Good point too. Tszyu, in his prime, could very well have been capable of showing Clottey his first napping experience in the ring. Pacquiao's left and Tszyu's right both had a very similar effect on guys, but Pacquiao's similar effect was one or two weight classes south, though not too shabby by any means at 140 and 147.
KT v Mayweather would be better. His accuracy and ring smarts would give Floyd fits. That would be a stunning fight prime for prime.
Can't tell as I've not been hit by any. :!: Kidding aside, Tszyu's straight is like a lethal harpoon that could KO any whale anytime it hit flush. Have yet to see Manny do what Kostya did (to Judah) with both their respective lethal weapons.
