Just wanted to post my fav Tszyu vid. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23dS7mKe6tY[/ame] It's debatable but Kostya's right was ****ing murder. My fav KO at 1:50 when Kostya got a nasty cut and went crazy at the guy to get the win before the fight was stopped.
Arguello threw a stunning right hand, I'd say Kostya on power but Arguello on perfection of delivery.
I'm pretty sure punches thrown from a fighter's back hand can be referred to as hooks if that's what they most resemble. I've heard commentators and others at various times refer to rights thrown by righties and lefts thrown lefties as hooks as it seemed to be the best description of those particular punches. It's definitely not the most common punch you'll see in boxing and it's not exactly taught or planned, but it definitely happens. Sometimes I think there's just no other word to better describe a punch from a fighter's back hand that curves just like a hook. There may be, but I'm unaware of it. Pacquiao's KO against Hatton appeared to be an overhand left, to me anyway.
Nice. Very well put. For those who are new to boxing, I would not be doing this thread or Kostya Tszyu justice if I didn't explain the chickendance. Even if it wasn't brought up, this will always be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Kostya Tszyu for most: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o7A3rMN6Co&feature=PlayList&p=D25899697776642F&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=7[/ame]
How many people on hear are either to far up pacs arse or just have a short memory???! Tszyu and it's not even close, his straight right was a thing of beauty.
Tszyu's right hand was indeed a thing of beauty but you've forgotten just how hard and devastating Pacquiao's straight left hand was before he moved up to featherweight. it seems alot of people have forgotten that.
