In 2003, Manny Pacquiao moved up to the Featherweight division and challenged Marco Antonio Barrera. Then immediately after took on the most avoided and biggest boogeyman in the sport in Juan Manuel Marquez. Then took a tune up fight against a decent contender and looked like God on Earth. And then immediately afterwards moved up to 130 and fought Erik Morales in what would be Morales' last stand. In a span of 4 fights and less than 2 calendar years Pacquiao fought MAB, JMM and Erik Morales. It's something straight out of the 1950s and something we will probably never see again in our sport.
I agree, but more like 2003 to 2010. I don't think we will see a fighter every have a run like that again in this sport. The way the politics are set up these days and the normalization of fighting only once per year. I don't think it's actually possible anymore.
Yeah it was amazong but what he did from 08-10 is even crazier. In a few years went from super feather to facing a middleweight on fight night. Titles at 5 divisions if you count Margarito. Destroying everyone bar JMM as a small guy. That he continued for over a decade after that and still had several very good to great wins was just adding to the legacy.
Pacman So good that you have ***** made mofo's on here & elsewhere claiming he's on PED's for over a decade in counting, All due to one Cowardly Weak Jealousy ridden man who's statement made it the truth worldwide while he himself was actually the one using PED's the whole time & got caught masking along with other details that emerged after, you gotta love it.
Pac had 3 HOF careers 97-03 04-08 09-21 You could take the fights from each time period and wipeout everything else and he's still a HOF'er.
