Pacquiao's Power is very OVERRATED!

If PAC didn't "PLACE" his punches PAC wouldn't be one of the most accurate boxers in modern day boxing. What's crazy is the fact that he has above avg punch output plus above avg connect percentage. Usually when you have high volume you have low connect percentage.....PAC is cut from a different cloth.

I do think his OPPONENTS underrate PAC's power....that's actually a given. They always go in saying he "he can't hurt me"....then end up in post fight interviews claiming they mis judged his power.

If Cotto's chin is a c-grade, why didn't Mosley knock him out?

i get the feeling pacs power is over rated. aside from hatton he has not knocked anyone out in years.

he was able to drop cotto twice but cotto has been more hurt vs torres IMHO.

he wasnt able to knock out margo who has been smacked around by mosley already.

he wasnt even able to knock out a ghost of oscar who even whittaker was able to drop with one punch.

I dont think he has great power. kinda reminds me of khan in that his power is generated by his speed and output. i expect him to continue dominating and punishing fighters, but his power is now suspect.

I've seen Cotto's whole career and he's been on shakey leggs numerous times and was never known to have a great chin...have you ever seen the Torres or Corely fights? i didnt think so, because you just started watching boxing 2years ago

the most accurate of this era would be Floyd Jr my friend...Pac's compubox numbers are always **** even in fights he dominates against fighters w/ no defense

i know what a damn catchweight is used for but Team Pacquiao is using them for an advantage and its pretty damn obvious...he fought Oscar at the welter limit but couldnt fight cotto at the limit....come on

****ing idiot, Hatton wasnt better than Alexander, Bradley, Khan, etc. he was just the most popular because of his high-profile fight w/ Floyd Jr. Hatton was fighting soft touches like Lazcano and Maligniggi...and if Pac was soooo powerful in the lower weights why wasnt he knocking guys like Barrera, Morales, and Marquez out cold???? i thought so

Regarding Hatton, I did say arguable, didn't I? And he WAS the lineal champ at the time, you can't take that away from him. Whether his hype overshadowed his actual skill doesn't matter. He still had the skill and he wasn't a regular bum.

He dropped Barrera, Morales, and Marquez multiple times, and they weren't exactly average fighters, so don't make it out like them being knocked out by Pac was second nature. I didn't say Pacquiao had Tyson-like power, but it was impressive power for the lower weight classes. Who else KOed those names, by the way? Because I'm sure they get knocked out all the time. <_<

Do you have any idea how stupid your argument is? You're basically saying "Pacquiao didn't do what he did to Hatton to everyone he fought, so he doesn't have much power." He may not be the best or have consistent concussion-causing power, but his POWER is realistically rated near the top of the divisions he fights in, barring the mythical 150 lb. division.
