I want to see Cotto with Margo again as long as the purse split is 80/20 for Cotto.

That will be a huge event.

No need for rematch with Pac. I want Pac to fight Martinez win or lose then retire. Forget Floyd.

I'm pretty sure you have to be in the Division to fight for that belt, not outside of it even if it was lower. I'm pretty sure this is the controversy behind the Christy Martin-Laila Ali weigh in.

Hank Armstrong fought a lot of his WW title fights below the lightweight limit so this is news to me.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure competitiveness is evaluated in this as well. For example, Mayweather could never get a fight with Vitali Klitshcko weighing in at 147

i was thinking about that a while ago. cotto becomes champ at 154 and now pac has an opportunity to rematch a guy he already crushed and get another belt in yet another weight class. i really don't want to see cotto fight pac again (at least not immediately), but i have a feeling it's likely to happen.

Pac's stock has skyrocketed tremendously in recent times. First Floyd talks about retirement and now Cotto proves that he can still bang. As for a rematch between Pac and Cotto, I still feel Pac would win...however with an improved Cotto and Steward in his corner I like to think Miguel now has a small chance to beat Pac. I still would bet on Pac to win but Cotto has shortened the margin IF the fight takes place at 147 or higher.

Gotta give more credit to Steward and Roach. They do an amazing job at bringing out a fighter's strengths and making sure they stick to an effective game plan. Yuri isn't what I would call an elite but he can definitely box. I didn't expect Cotto to run through him quite easily. Usually flat-footed fighters have trouble with constant foot movement. What a beautiful thing a jab can do for Cotto; he needs to use it as if his life depended on it.

    *DING*

This gives Arum/Pac increased leverage in negotiations with Team Mayweather. It's a no-brainer rematch, for many reasons:

    * Cotto wants revenge
    * Guaranteed big payday for both fighters and their mutual promoter, Arum
    * Pac going for yet another historical milestone
    * Guaranteed to be a crowd-pleasing brawl like the first match

Add to this that Arum has learned how much drawing power Pac Man brings to Las Vegas casinos (apparently when he fights the big-time Asian high rollers come to the city and spend large on gambling), and pretty soon the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is going to become irrelevant to Arum and Pacquiao.

They can fight either Margarito or Cotto now. Both Top Rank guys, and both guaranteed to be action-packed fights that will please the casual fan.

Arum now knows he has an ultimate trump card in Pac's pull with Asian gamblers. This is what led to the talk of that monster site fee Qatar or whomever was going to pay for Pac-PBF.

As far as public relations goes, Arum and Pac would simply continue to further their defamation lawsuit against Team Mayweather while Pacquiao goes out and fights Margarito and/or Cotto. Then Arum can say "we're not fighting that guy while we're pursuing the lawsuit," or whatever. As well as "we want Pac to have a chance to further his legacy, and Cotto deserves a rematch." Easy cover if Floyd doesn't want to come to terms.

Very excited for Pac's future now. The new congressman has very good options before him, with or without PBF.

Cotto don't want any part of Pac. I doubt his wife would allow her man to get beat down again like that.

As much as I like Pac to challenge himself and try to get a belt at 154 (insane really). I don't want it to be against Cotto. Pac should fight Williams. Yes I said it. David vs Golliath literally. It would be an almost impossible task for Pac if he is up to the challenge.
