The one guy who was a legitimate threat and in the opinion of most boxing people felt beat him was beaten to a pulp over 12 rounds by Money.

The fact is that Top Rank has orchastrated his career, his wife ain't sexy and now it's painfully obvious that he's on something after backing out of the Money fight. For those banking on Pacquiao to beat Money would be like taking betting tips from Teddy Atlas. It's not wise nor is it happening.

Now is it clear? Don't you see? Pacquiao just so happened to come around at the right time and hails from a country that has nothing else to idolize or turn to. Meanwhile, Money was born from a rich boxing predigree and was destined to be a star right out of the gates.

You do realize that Pacman has been famous and popular for about 7 years, don't you? He was fighting Barrera around the same time Mayweather Jr. was fighting the likes of Ndou and Corley.

As for the clown who started this thread, Mayweather never was a popular fighter. His presence or absence makes absolutely no difference to anybody else's popularity.

Pacquiao's popularity is well deserved cause he gained it over the years by more often than not, testing himself against the best possible fighters out there, while always putting on a great show for the fans to see.

If Pacquiao was American, spoke perfect English and could have competed earlier in his career at the higher weights, he would have been a huge star in the States, a while ago !!
