Which has been a more instrumental punch in their respective careers?

    Mayweather's right

Pac's cross is probably better for him than his straight, but he does rack up some nice KD points with his straight (which basically won him the JMM fights, if my poor memory serves me correctly).

I apologize beforehand, and I usually don;t just come out and attack another poster, so feel free to ignore me or call me an ass, but that really is the GHEYEST avatar I have ever seen.

Floyd wins fights with his lead right, best tool in the cabinent as far as punches go....and they are always easier to land against a southpaw

Floyds check hook is my fave punch in the world thanks to the hatton fight.

But back to the subject floyds straight is the one for me. If they do fight i feel the straight right combined with the longer reach will be the winning factor

Manny's straight left. For a good part of his career, Manny didn't even have much of a right hand. Floyd has always had that straight right, but he started to really develop it when he got to 140 lbs. Floyd has always had a great left hook, and that's probably still his best punch.

i agree that has been the case in the past for floyd, esp when the fight has gone on long enough for him to find his range. But against a southpaw with a good/better (?) straight they will both have an 'advantage'.

i honestly dont know who i think wins this 'battle of the straights' but i think its gonna be a key deciding factor. Floyd really depends on it and he is scarily consistent when he gets going. But looking at it in terms of speed, power, accuracy..etc if pac gets caught with one i dont think it means too much but mayweather getting caught could be very interesting..

True when pac connects that straight he's going to drop his shoulder and go "whoop there it is!!!"

Floyd used to throw straight right leads when he was entertaining a few years back with great results when followed by a left-right 1-2. Those were the days when I was a fan of his.

Pac I think has a lot of punches in his arsenal and he employs them with reflex now rather than the right jab straight left he would throw time after time.
