Manny wins only with the straight left ... and he depends on it so much ... and Mayweather has more effective punches than the straight right.

In terms of damage and effectiveness, I'd say both punches are explosive offensive weapons.

The best display of Floyd's right IMO was his KO of Phillip NDou.

I agree that you can argue his left hook is more affective. But then you have to mention pacs right hook and if u compare them both on the best example of their use, ricky hatton, pac 'wins'. what makes me skeptical tho is mayweather figures hatton out and then executes it while pac started with it. pac needs a plan B and C cuz if mayweather figures out the left straight AND and the hook its a 100% UD.

Floyd's straight right is extrememly good...it not only hurts but in a fight that he needs to slow down...he throws it then holds....keeps the pace slow....i expect to see it against a fighter like PAC.

That's what makes this version of pac so difficult to figure out...he resorts to the right hook quite often to set up the straight left.

Should be a really intriguing fight if it ever happens.

Sounds like you're referring to the old pacman...it's definitely worthwhile, when trying to analyze this match-up, to watch the last three pac fights...he uses a lot more than the straight left to defeat his opponents.

If all pac had was his left hand as a weapon, he more than likely wouldn't have dominated the fights against DLH, Hatton, and Cotto.

The point is mayweather thinks in the ring, he can change his game plan every couple of rounds. pac shows all his cards in the first round cuz he doesnt think in the ring, he relies on a game plan thought out for him ie he is less adaptable and also depends on two punches, a left straight and a right hook. i therefore think pac needs different strategies in order to be able to adapt to whatever mayweather does. All this said i dunno if mayweather can solve either punches and part of me is starting to think while mayweather is using that boxing brain he loves talking about ('the smarts') he might end up on his arse.

Floyd's check hook is beautiful but it needs help from ring post to score a KO. Pac's right hook had proven effective in his recent fights but has not KOd anyone so far.

Pac's straight left is pretty much the best punch in the sport. Possibly the best straight left in the history of the sport.

Pacquioa's left.. Floyd has gotten the job done in many different ways over the years. Manny on the other hand, heavily relies on the power of his left hand.

Think about it, if Manny didn't have the left hand during his fights with Marquez he'd basically have nothing because JMM's skills reduced him to a one-handed fighter.
