The best variety of body punches I have seen from Manny in recent fights, if not any fight. I think this was due to Clottys high peek-a-boo gaurd, mabey Pacman found it difficult to find Clottys chin.

i'm predicting that floyd will ride his bike and just try to counter pac to avoid those hurting punches.

and besides floyd would probably inject some xylocain in his ribs to numb them down just in case pac breaks them. floyd "broke" his ribs in sparring remember? :smooch

Could you imagine how sore his ribs would have been when he woke up Sunday morning? He probably struggled to get out of bed :D

Pac has always been a ferocious body puncher, but I think he had to abandon that style as he moved up in weight. I remember watching him on a filipino boxing show called blow by blow and made this thai boxer quit, throwing non stop body punches....... Barrera in one interview had said that pac's body work was sensational, and set his head punches up in there first fight....although i did not particularly notice pac throwing to barrera's body, i'll have to re watch

He landed some body vicious body shot's but nobody is talking about the headsnapping shots clottey landing on pacman. Pac got alot of those bodyshots blocked just like the head shots. Everything he threw at the middle of clottey's body was blocked. He got some nasty shots on the side but theyt weren't ass frequent as you guys say. They were about as frequent as clottey snapping pac's head back (blatantly with no guessing). I though clottey was hurt in the 4th or 5th from a body shot but I don't think pac realized it.

Pac won the fight by default. throwing alot of punches while landing hardly anything clean becuase that was all he could do. Clottey lost the fight in the shell because that was all he could do. High output fighters (85+ punches per round) beat shell fighters. It's like 1+1=2. If he traded then he would have been hit in his face too LOL.

People are right in saying that it would obviously be much harder to get to Floyd's body. If Floyd fought Pac in the same way he fought Judah, however, (walking forward, high guard) I'm sure Pac would have torn into his body in a much more effective way than Judah managed. (Even Judah landed some rather crisp body punches, with one in particular being sharp enough to draw even Merchant's praise, who hates him.) Floyd would never fight Pac with the high guard style, though...at least he wouldn't if he had a brain. The only reason he used that for Judah was because he knew Judah would gas out quickly, and that he supposedly 'couldn't fight going backwards'. With Pac I'm expecting Floyd to hit the gas pedal and go into constant movement, ala the Corrales match, and use jabs and darting left-hooks to catch Pac by surprise, with the occasional straight-right. (Clottey was having really good success with that right hand, and Floyd has maybe the best straight right hand I've seen in the sport today, very fast, very well-timed, decent pop, etc).

If Floyd tried his usual gig of swaying on the ropes in the shoulder-roll stance, though...that would be a great chance to unleash those body combinations. Gotta be careful not to throw wasted flurries like Hoya, though...need to really dig into the pit of the stomach with straight punches until Floyd adjusts his guard, and then sneak around that adjustment and hit the ribs.

Sweet videos, cheers. I should really watch more of his old fights...love how he's kept this furious combination punching as he's matured, and yet now he's much more polished.

I don't remember much of the Barrera fight either, I'll have to go back to that at some point. I trust Barrera's word though, as he was obviously the one getting hit in there, was painful to watch him get battered across the ring round after round like that.

Clottey was popping pacs head everytime he threw a punch and that was not alot of times but he connecting with ease. If Clottely slow azz can connect at will mayweather will have a field day with pacs face. Pacquiao's face will look twice as bad after a fight with Floyd and thats a promise.

Do you have a link to him saying that?

I'm not doubting you, I was just wondering this exact thing, who does Clottey say punches harder between Cotto and Pacquiao.

Pacquiao's powerful body attack may have discouraged Clottey, who shook his right leg a couple of times during the middle rounds as an indication that the sting of the blows ran down through to his feet.

"We hit him to the body, and that had him kicking his legs a couple of times. I saw that twice, where we got him cramping up a little bit there. It's always good to get rounds and go the distance with guys, and so forth," said Roach.
