If hatton had not been knockdown in the prior rounds i would say pacquio but come on paul falls flat on his face lays motionless with eyes wide open not to mention he had a good chin and never been knocked down in that fashion. The fact that mayweather had already dropped em takes away from Pacs ko.Martinez without a doubt.

Im startin to think the *******s feel threatened how the **** is this poll even???

both were brutal but I have to go with Maravilla's KO of Williams. there was really no indication that something like that was going to happen and for a second I thought Williams might have died. unbelievable....

hmmm, I'm bored and strangely feel like doing an analysis of them

    Event

Obviously, the Pacquiao-Hatton fight was a successful PPV due to the large followings of both fighters and that both fighters had participated in large events. Martinez-Williams was a rematch of a FOTY candidate. Neither Martinez nor Williams has the following of Pacquiao or Hatton, so Pac's KO probably resonated on a larger scale.

    Chin Check

Hatton had chin worries prior to the Pacquiao fight. In the last 5 years, Floyd has 1 T/KO...it's against Hatton...and he pretty much scored that TKO on check hook. Prior to that Hatton looked out on his feet in his match with Luis Collazo who is not much of a puncher himself.

Paul has a good chin(but certainly not an iron chin as Kellerman seemed to suggest). As far as I know he had only been down once before in his career...also against Martinez off of a counter right hook. However, he came back in that fight and took some more serious bombs and finished comfortably.

    Drama

It was pretty much a sure-fire thing that Pacquiao was going to get Hatton out of there midway through the first round. You knew Hatton was a goner. I don't think anyone expected how emphatic it might be, but you knew he was toast.

Martinez known more for being a sharp puncher rather than a big puncher turned that shot short out of nowhere. There was no prior indication that this fight would end so quickly. There was no reason to believe that Martinez was going to turn Williams lights out so early in the fight(from Martinez 24 KOs to Pauls good chin, to the fact that it was a 1-punch out of nowhere).

    Spectacle

    They were both ****ing brutal.

Verdict: Martinez KO via narrow decision Pac KO

Manny sort was hitting Hatton at will in round one. Martinez was not winning in that fashion against Williams. The more I see the clip of the fight I realize that Williams was hit square on the jaw not the temple. So it was a test of his chin a little. He should stay away from big punchers for a while.

Pacquiao's was not a one punch KO. He knocked Hatton down twice in the first round. Paul Williams won the first round against Sergio. Martinez's was a one punch KO and much more savage.

If you watched SM vs PWill I you will see in RD1, PWill does the open eye thing when SM KD' him for the first time. I actually thought he was going down for 10 on that one.

SM definitely was looking for that counter punch. He tagged him with the same punch several seconds before. But yes, he was not looking directly at PWill when he launched that missile. PWill's chin seek that missile by itself.

Hatton has definitely been chin checked before. PBF did it before but I always thought his stamina and post played a roll in that one (though not taking anything away from PBF's PERFECTLY executed check hook).

You have to admit, even if you think Hatton was already thinking about retirement, Pac took away any doubts. And there is no way that how Hatton pictured himself retiring. To this day, if you read interviews of him, you can see a level of disappointment.

I give it to Pac for long lasting physical, mental and emotional damage it did. PWill's fall looked great, but I think mostly because being tall made it looking more impressive. But if you consider the technical aspect (setup vs 10% luck) and lasting effect, Pac's KO was and is better.
