Cant fault Pacquiao for trying to convince himself it was luck.
He's got to do that in order to get his confidence back.

Pacquiao certainly was'nt going to say, "Marquez is great, he set me up beautifully!"
As long as Pacquiao remains active, he's not going to say such a thing, and in fairness, Marquez may very well be saying the same thing had it happened to him.

The fighters I dont fault its everyone else that are idiots for stating it was luck when Marquez landed that right hand repeatedly throughout his fights and was dead set on landing it with better leverage and authority in fight 4.
The 3rd round massive overhand right proves the 6th round right hand was all setup and skill! :deal

There is no such thing as a luck punch. If a guy gets beat up for 12 rounds and KO's the other guy with 11 seconds left on the clock, It's not luck it's boxing. Until the final bell rings any fighter knows you can get knocked out.

Yes! Pac was winning the fight but then boom........he fell himself on the floor.

It was his terrible mistake anyway to try to finish JMM in the last second of that round.

It was stupidity for pacquiao to rush in like that. JMM did the right thing.

    Mostly true.

    A couple of things though.

It would be unfair to Marquez to term it a lucky punch as he had practised the move repeatedly in training and landed it in previous fights. It was his time.

That said, there is little doubt that the feet were tangled (unitentionally) and that the trip propelled Pac forward into the perfectly timed counterpunch. This resulted in a possible KD shot with a minute to recover, becoming a KTFO shot with lights out.

While I wouldn't term it a lucky punch for JMM, I think Pac was unlucky to some degree.

Given that any of the three previous fights could have been scored narrowly for Marquez, the overall karma of the thing seems fair.

I wouldn't relegate Pac to the has-been category just yet, though.

Boxrec has him 0-2 in his last two, with a brutal KO in his last. That doesn't tell the whole story.

The truth is he clearly beat Bradley and was dominating Marquez moreso than in any of their previous meetings till he got a little unlucky.

That KO may have changed him permanently or it may be a blip of no concern.

We'll find out which soon, courtesy of Rios.

So if Marquez wasn't trying to throw a punch when he fainted then threw that monster right hand, what was he trying to do?

It would've been lucky if he lifted his hand to block a shot and accidentally caught Pac, but he didn't, he intentionally threw a perfect punch. There was no more luck in that than any other punch thrown by anyone.

You make your own luck in boxing!

    ATTENTION ALL *******S.

Your pathetic little runt of a hero was ONE point up on all 3 cards at point of stoppage.

That is not dominating anyone. The ******ed fvckwit was always troubled by right hands from Marquez during their 4 fights. It is simply a matter of this time JMM had become accustomed to the weight, and put the miserable little **** to sleep.

Pacquiao made a mistake. He got too eager to go for the kill, and it cost him.

Got to give JMM his due credit.

Marquez was landing it all night and already had Pac on his ass. Pacquiao is the worst excuse maker in the history of boxing.

Were the punches that Knocked him the **** out against Torrecampo and that other cab driver lucky as well?
