    Thats why your calves cramp up after tedious footwork and kicking sessions? cause they're not used for much.

    Is that why elite athletes in sports requiring excessive leg power always have extremely defined calves?

    I think what you mean is 'big' calves might be genetic, but defined, dense, powerful calves certainly are not. Its the difference between having 'big arms' and ripped/sculpted arms.

    Thinking a muscle so big is hardly used is ridiculous.

    I think he was born with large calves but you can always work on them to make them stronger. Thats why you see guys getting calf implants because even when they workout it still doesn't develop the one they want it to. Pacquiao was born with punching power

    My gastrocnemius muscles in my calf are as big as Pacquios.Genetics may play a part and the fact that I walk a lot.
