The writing was on the wall to put Pac in against Rios or Alvarado.

I am a fan of both fighters, but Rios and Alvarado are very overrated, and Arum created the perfect opponents for Pac to make his 'comeback' against to regain his momentum.

Pacs peak is done, hes on the slide, and against an elite opponent he would be in a lot of trouble..... but Alvarado is not elite, and I would expect a good, fun fight that would make Pac look like he has more in the tank then he actually does (while still seeing hints that hes past it) but the headlines will read 'Pac comes back strong with KO win!!!', his fans will go nuts again and it will set him up for Arums next big fight for him.

If Alvarado troubles Pac at all (not even going to consider him winning, even at this point) then Pac is even more gone then even I thought.

All that being said. For being on the slide, and having just been put in a coma, this is a good comeback fight for Pac. And it shows you how good Pac really is, when someone like Alvarado is considered a good comeback fight for him after having just almost been killed in the ring.

Ha *******, did I tell Pacquiao to abuse catchweights, why did Cotto say no catchweight for a rematch, did Rigo fight Donaire at 120 like a *****?

Why would that be legit? Canelo is two divisions bigger than him. And that'll be reflected on fight night when Canelo outweighs him by a similar margin, too. What a ****-poor comparison.

I'll remind you again.... Alvarado will be bigger than Pac. He will come in at around 160, and Pac will comin at around 150. 160 is a higher number than 150, which means 160 is heavier than 150. Not sure how many different ways I can put that to you.

A fighter not happening to have had a fight there, becomes irrelevant when said fighter comes in ridiculously heavy anyway. Rios never had a fight at 140 before, did that stop him from busting up Alvarado? Ortiz never had a fight at 147 before, did that stop him from beating Berto? Only a simpleton uses an arguement as trivial as that without bothering to take into account sizes, height and in-ring weights of a fighter.

Alvarado normally campaigning at 140 will have no bearing on his performance against a guy who's smaller than the ones he's accustomed to facing (Rios, Prescott, and I'm sure other LWWs that have weighed heavier than Pac).

You might be right. I like this fight. Alvarado could be as overrated as you say he is however he is a wildcard which means there's a solid possibility for him to pull an upset win. I'm sure Arum made the Donaire-Rigo fight thinking Donaire was going to become an even bigger cash cow by knocking out an overhyped amateur bum on such an elegant stage. Obviously Alvarado isn't as great of a boxer as Rigo. All I'm saying is Arum's plan doesn't always work in his favor. I'll be rooting for Alvarado. If Pac wins we'll have to deal with the hype again but I don't mind it too much since he's only one fight away from getting knocked out by an elite again.

Figures. Arum needs to feed someone to Pac to make him look like a 'God' in the ring again. Face first brawler, coming up in weight although he didn't clean out the division, right after a war or two so he's physically damaged.. Sounds about right.

Should be entertaining, I'll watch. Just hope Pac fans realize why he's been fighting the face first brawlers now.
