an 8, to tell you the truth....
Pacquiao came in a bit soft-looking and wasnt in physical "Pacman" form. The political, cultural, and promoter distractions paid their dues. I think he came in less weight than his fight vs Clottey! Wasnt he 151 or something?

4th round - he obscenely hurt Margarito in the stomach multiple times. Margo was bending over AND jumping back to avoid other bodyshots. Thats NOT a subtle hint that someone's severely hurt down there. At the end of 4th, Margo was HURT AND GASSED!

5th round i figured Freddy would jump all over that and have Manny start on top to set up more bottom shots...... BUT THAT NEVER HAPPENED! WTF!!!! He never went back to the body much till the later rounds.

Thats how SSM chopped Margo down. It wasnt all the hooking headshots he loaded up on Margo. It all started with hitting the body and making Margo dip down so he could REALLY load up on his hooks and punch downwards. That spelled the ending of Margo....

This was a classic cookie-cutter plan that obviously wasnt followed....

    8. Cotto was probably a 9. In this fight he got hit a bit too much and didn't capitalize on certain opportunities, but most of the fight he was using his advantages to lead Margarito wherever he wanted, walked him into shots, answered every one of Margarito's shots with 5 of his own, kept up the volume and pace, controlled the distance going in-and-out, used a varied offense of combinations, & worked the body and the head sharply with power and precision.

He abandoned going to the body, when he was having much success with it, after he knew he had the fight in the bag. He also got too excited and tried to mix it up with Margo way too much for the fans, especially on the ropes. That's why we love him. 10 for entertainment, 8 for his performance overall.

    9.

Why? Because he was careless with his defense. He got hit way too much when he didn't have too. Am i being critical? Yes. But a 10 is perfection. He wasn't. But his courage and blazing speed was off the charts. Just be glad that we are witnessing this true ATG. 50 years from now, you will be able to tell people you saw him fight.

He was exciting, entertaining, and he landed 411 ****ing power shots for ****'s sake. He turned Margarito into a Halloween costume.

I voted 8 - very good performance, but not perfect. He should have finished it early, actually the ref should have, or marg's corner but that wasn't going to happen.

-1 because the opponent was a punching bag

-1 because he was reckless and got hurt

My vote was 8. marg is the type of opponent that can allow him to showcase his entire offensive arsenal and footspeed.

10, because he showed mercy for Margarito at the expense of getting the KO. We witnessed true greatness in the ring, and I'm not referring to Pac's victory.

he intentionally but unnecessarily took a lot of punches simply to make the fight really exciting. what's up with him really?
