roach said during training that PAC is developing 1 punch KO power at this weight. citing PAC knockdowned 4 out of his 7 sparring partners.... DO you agree? Is the 122 lbs version of PAC resurrected at this weight?
one thing though is he doesn't have the same bounce in his legs that he had at 122, or maybe he just didn't need it yesterday I mean he is lightning fast, but he was even faster back then
The guy is a beast at 140, Roach said it's his best weight and he's becoming better every fight. It's kind of scary if you think about it, I think he'll even beat Mayweather.
Roach was dead on. I thought he was just hyping the fight up. He said Manny by KO within 3. It happened in Rd 2 and it was a clean, lights out, kind of KO. He knows what he's talking about.
I've been saying for a while that Pac isnt' as fast as he used to be, but what do you expect? 20 lbs. more and 10 years older! even though he's slowed down he's still nuts above the rest in the JWW-WW division in terms of speed(maybe only head and shoulders above FMJr and Berto).
I was surprised that Pac had one punch KO power at 140 and I think Hatton made the same mistake that he made in the Mayweather fight in this respect. Before the Mayweather fought Hatton was saying that Floyed could not hurt him because he took Tzyu bombs so well and I think once again Hatton underestimated Pacs power. I have to admit that also thought Hatton would take Pacs best shots OK but I was badly wrong.
Well Roach actually retracted his statement of PAc winning in 3 rounds saying it was all talk... but damn roach is on somekind of a streak with his predictions, diaz on 9, oscar on 9, now hatton on 3. is he nostradamus or what?:good
I haven't noticed a much speed reduction at all, myself. I've noticed he doesn't do that little bobbin' thing he used to...but he's still quite good at dodgin' punches.
"Manny Pacquiao doesn't have one punch power at junior welterweight." For all y'all that were saying that before last night...time to eat some serious crow! Manny's a ****ing BEAST at any weight. Stop hating and start appreciating. Fighters like this don't come around every day and when he's gone you're gonna miss him.
Definitely. Hatton went in to this fight thinking he couldn't get hurt by the little dude and he'd be able to walk him down, once he got hit he panicked and reverted back to his old ways. He didn't realise how fast Pac man was going to be and how hard he hit. Hatton went in thinking he lost a close fight to Mayweather who was bigger, stronger and possibly hit harder/faster than Pacquiao so why can't I beat this little guy?
For those who suggested in an earlier thread that Pac is on steroids have this point to make. Steroids kill your stamina and only help to build explosive speed and power. Thats why sprinters use steroids and long distance runners and cyclists use drugs like EPO (Erythropoietin) affecting red blood cell production. In my opinion Steroids would do more harm to a boxer than help him and you would notice that he would be completely exhausted after a few rounds.
yup i still remember watching pac before, always bouncing, lunging, in then out, and that all too familiar jab jab left straight... its really nice to see how this once one-trick pony evolved to the fighter he is now. not as fast but just as lethal.
