Actually that is only mostly true. Filipino is the official language of the Phillipines and was established as such in 1973. It is nearly identical as a spoken language to Tagalog with the difference coming in the written language. The Filipino alphabet has a 28 letter alphabet basically the English alphabet with the addition of ñ and ng. It was based on the Filipino alphabet which had 31 letters, basically they removed ch, rr, and one other that escapes me, basically the Spanish alphabet with the addition of the ng. The current alphabet was decided in 1987. These changes were made to form a more unified Phillipines without necessarily favoring any single group. This is because of the diversity of languages in the Phillipines ranging from Tagalog, to Illocano, Spanish, Cebuano, and others. This was really a token gesture since it is basically Tagalog and most people in Manilla and surronding areas will say they speak Tagalog not Filipino. Though technically that is the proper designation for the language. Oh and the reason you see a lot of people refer to it as Tagalog still is because of the relative recentness of the adoption 1973. Pacquaio would have learned Tagalog the official language of when he was growing up. Similarly my mother learned Tagalog since that was the language when she was growing up.
Yeah you know...that weight he was carrying around for the first press conference seems to have disappeared already. I thought they may have tried to maintain him at a higher weight throughout his training camp. Like you said, he might have to get a load of food down him before weigh-in...he'll probably step in the ring lighter than he weighs-in.
Remember they don't have to make 151 that's just the max. Hell he doesn't even have to be over 147. I figure he'll probably won't do any cutting and just come into the weigh in at 146 like he did with Clottey. I definitely don't see him being above 148. And fight night I'm guessing it will be similar maybe 150 tops.
the left power-punch is a natural arsenal of his. it was the punch EM prepared for in their second and third meeting. the development of MP's right kept EM guessing which made him gun-shy to a certain degree which cost him those fights.
As far as I am aware, he has to come in between 148 and 151lbs...he comes in at 147lbs or less, the title will not be on the line (it shouldn't be anyway because of the catchweight, but I've already stated this numerous times).
