Pac's slow feet! What surprised me most was the discrepancy in foot speed

After that it's clear that shooting for 50-0 isn't the gamble it might've seemed.

I guess a lot depends on just how shot Pacquiao is, but Mayweather didn't seem in the least bit challenged in there with the supposed p4p #2.

Well yeah, Pac hasn't been fighting guys with Floyd's foot speed so maybe he looked faster than he was but it was still surprising. That and he seemed like he didn't know how to use his feet. Just continually went straight at Floyd.

Clearly our assessments were off but I think at least a small part of it is Floyd's legs have aged a lot better.

It was not foot speed, but FOOT WORK what made the difference.
Pac is still very light on his feet, but Floyd has better knowledge of how to walk the ring, depending on the circumstance.

Didn't see any of Manny's characteristic footwork. Not like he attempted it and abandoned it...it just never showed up.

I was also very surprised at how much he just stood in front of Floyd without moving or punching. That's boxing 101 right there.

Foot work and foot speed have some overlap, and you are correct in saying Floyd's superior footwork was probably more of a game changer. But I already knew Floyd had BETTER footwork. I just thought Pac was fast enough and coordinated enough, that he can neutralize some of that via use of his own foot speed.

But Pac really looked like Led Foot in there.

And while we're on it, I actually thought Pac's handspeed looked lethargic and slow for the first 3 rounds, and then he finally seemed to show some snap. But it didn't matter. Floyd not only reduced Pac's output drastically, he also made Pac commit to his punches with far less tenacity.

I think it was even more surprising because he and Roach had years to plan for the fight and Manny just kept walking in the mud in a straight line.

Yeah, strange to watch Roach's total lack of urgency.

    He looked slow.

But we all knew that he has trouble cutting off the ring which is to say that his usual excellent footwork can be neutralized against movers.

That jab and right hand stopped Pac from doing anything. From the first round I thought "well, that's it" Pac has lost.

Pac followed Floyd. The moment you follow Floyd, who has fast and smart footwork, you've already lost the fight to be quite honest.

That was odd too. Buboy was doing most of the talking in the corner.

Pacquiao can't cut a ring off to save his life. Never could.
