We all know his strengths, but what are some apparent weakness that stick out like a sore thumb in your estimation? After watching the second JMM fight I believe fighting boxing technicians are one of his potential weaknesses. When JMM boxed him he was at an advantage. Most of his big wins have come against boxer/punchers or brawlers, but he has faced many sharp technicians. Perhaps his body is his weakness because of the KO loses, but that was a long time ago. THIS ISN"T TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM HIM. HE's ONE OF TWO REASONS WHY I EVEN BOTHER WATCHING BOXING.
His chin has always been one of my biggest concern about him. I've seen him stunned/hurt in the following fights; Barrera, Morales, Larios, JMM and more just can't think right now haven't slept.
his chin.. filipino's chin arent granite like the latino fighters. The only reason why manny hasn't hit the canvas in long time it's because of his LEGS.
Manny is 10x better then when he fought JMM. He used to be extremely flawed - throwing himself off balance, being a one-handed puncher, etc. He doesn't do any of that anymore. It's hard for me to find any flaws other than maybe his chin. He's fighting much bigger guys now, and we'll have to see how his chin holds up.
..he sometimes makes movies/join billiards tournaments/shoot tv shows/join basketball tourneys/hosts cockfights while his opponent is training.. lol. not sure about that chin thing, not granite but decent..
Manny doesn't have a bad chin at all. Going toe-to-toe with elite fighters with mediocre defensive abilities at that can see anybody stunned and hurt. He's improved massively in his technical abilities, including in his defense. As far as his only two stoppage losses, they had nothing to do with his chin. One was a body shot, the other was a shot to the crotch, followed by slamming his teenage head into the floor, if I remember correctly. Considering that, his quality of opposition and his traveling up the weight classes, I can't imagine anyone implying he doesn't take a hell of a punch anywhere. But I've yet to see him at 135, 140 or 147 taking any consistent punches from anyone, so I couldn't guess how he'd handle them from these bigger men. I have a feeling with the accuracy, Floyd could very well knock him out, unfortunately.
He will give Cotto hell, but his weaknesses will show if a fight with Floyd gets made. I think Freddy has done a magnificent job helping Manny to adapt to his opponents, but his footwork can sometimes be predictable, and that is disastrous in a fight with Mayweather. This is the only flaw I see in Pac, and again, I only think there's one guy out there from 135-147 who can exploit it. Pac tends to bounce in and flurry, and bounce out in straight lines - straight in and straight out, often with predictable side to side head movement.
susceptible to the straight right. BUT, it should be a very fast one. JMM was able to this because JMM is perhaps the most technical active fighter right now, and considering Pac is always moving and coming from different angles, only JMM's caliber can counter a Pac onslaught, and both have almost the same physique. I would say Pac, knows his weaknesses, thus coming up with the right gameplan helps a lot.
