Oscar deserves as much blame as anyone for starving himself so that he could charge $54.95 and **** the public for buying into this farce of a fight.

This fight at that weight had no business happening. This win wasn't any more impressive than the Solis win. It proved ****. Nothing at all. And it should not be touted as one of Manny's best wins. Sure, Steve Forbes couldn't beat DLH, but maybe had Oscar been forced to shed a few more pounds he would have. Hell, Oscar looked like he'd been in a war anyway.

Not taking away from any other of Manny's wins....just this fight. It was the public having the wool pulled over their eyes. Not me. I didn't order it. Because i saw it coming.

Oscar didn't look that bad against 2-pound at 150. Something tells me that Manny had something to do Oscar's crappy performance.

Now if Manny had struggled against Hatton or Cotto, I could see your point. But the fact that he Ko'd his last three opponents tells me that you don't have a very good argument.

Besides, if you're going to complain about anyone's PPV rip-offs, how about a PPV for the Ring 147lb title against a journeyman with a record of 43-9-6 and a blown up and ineffective Marquez at 144lbs.

    That is higway robbery, brother.

People knew DLH was coming in way past his prime and weight drained but yet people still picked him to win.

Almost every PPV is a ripoff for the amount that they charge. Only authentic superfights should cost 50 bucks. But that's just the nature of the business. I didn't pay for the Baldomir fight. I bought the Marquez fight because I had some money on it.

I agree with the OP, however, that DLH looked absolutely absymal and that wasn't all or even mostly to do with Pac. I think he was just plain done at that age, at that weight. Pacs other recent wins are still very impressive though.

I don't think you're giving Manny enough credit for that victory. I don't think anyone expected to see that version of Pac...a boxer-puncher who could slip punches and counter at angles, especially De La Hoya. DLH or Nacho didn't prepare for the fighter that showed up that night.

I do agree that De La Hoya looked abnormally skinny and not in strong fight shape, but Manny's performance was still amazing.

Manny looked impressive, no question, I just think it's not anywhere near his best win due to the way oscar looked.

Steve Forbes couldn't even win ONE ROUND off Oscar, forget beat him.

Listen, everyone knows that Oscar was shot. He's been shot since Sturm beat him. But being weight drained cancels out the fact that he was basically fighting a guy who was moving up 3 divisions (Diaz was just a pit stop). No one else did to a shot Oscar what Pacquiao was able to do. Manny's just that ****ing good and to top it off he's a stylistic nightmare for Oscar.

Mayweather-Baldomir? Don't compare that to Pac-DLH. I'm not arguing what's the bigger matchup on paper. Mayweather-Baldo was a valid fight, though, because as you stated yourself it was for the Ring title. Pac-DLH at 150 even may have been acceptable b/c of the Forbes fight, even though that fight was a clear indication of what lied ahead.

This fight was for nothing but $. Wasn't like Pac-Hatton, Pac-Cotto, May-JMM, DLH-May, doesn't compare to any of them. This was a simple case of starvation for $$$$. It should be completely discredited.

Are you serious? If 2 pound had any pop, he wins that fight. Oscar looked like he was mugged in an alley after that fight.

No my opinion wouldn't matter either. But I don't want a win to be taken off of a fighter's record. :good So I'm good.

Stricken from the ****ing records? Everyone I know and virtually everyone on ESB had been convinced before the fight that oscar was going to obliterate pacquiao inside of 6 rounds.

If anything there should be a little asterix next to the fight referring pacs dominance.:yep

Oscar is standing strong at the end of the 8th. Looks at how he rabbit punch Pac at the 5th. Those are strong shots.

He was just confused by the speed of Pac. How can you tell he is dehydrated? Oscar, Beristein, and Dundee all said he is not. Of course, after the fight is all excuses.

Pac's wins over Hatton and Cotto and the manner how he won it validated De La Hoya is not at his level. Every one that Pac fought looks dehydrated anyway.
