As long as Chavez vs De La Hoya 1, 2 and Oscar vs Pernell are also stricken from the record

The difference is both Chavez and Whitaker were title holders when Oscar faced them. Whitaker, though older, was p4p#1, and #1 rated welterweight and it was Oscar's first welter fight!

    BUL****.

People knew that Hoya was old..... people knew that Hoya was a kind of partime boxer..... but people never and I mean didn't know at all that Hoya was "way past his prime" and people never knew exactly how the weight was going to affect him???

people knew that Hoya wanted to retire with a win...... people knew that Hoya had struggled witht Forbes but he would still capable of defeating Pac because of the size difference and boxing skills, but that was it...

Am I the only one who remembers that Pac was supposed to be a ****ing tune up fight for Oscars big fights at WW like Cotto.

Since when is 147 a catchweight. Last I checked we called 147 MOTHER ****ING WELTERWEIGHT.

Oh yeah everyone saw it coming the light weight champ who's been fighting in the division for 3 whole months is moving up to fight at welterweight. Yeah everyone knew he would win. It was ****ing obvious. After all its so easy to move from 130-147 in less than 8 ****ing months beat the **** out of legends.

yes. oscar was clearly avoiding margarito that time because he wants pac as a replacement moneyfight when floyd backed out.

Even if hoya went down 1 division south of his division, pac went 3 divisions north of his division. What if pac lost?

You seem to forget all the "Pac is greedy, sold his self, his people and his record", "DON'T make the fight happen!", "DLH KO2", "DLH will carry Pac for a few rounds then knock him out cold" and all similar negative comments from experts and fans alike about how this fight is a circus than a real boxing match all favoring DLH to win in one-sided brutal fashion.

Now that Pac proved all wrong it's a nonsense display of starvation?

    Stupid fool.

If this fight is stricken from the records, then obviously so should Mayweather's meaningless size mismatch with Marquez.

No one is saying it should be stricken from the records per se (the way Stalin airbrushed out the pictures of Trotsky from historical photos), what people are saying is that it is the equivalent to Leonard/Norris, Trinidad/Whitaker, DLH/Camacho. It's more symbolic than meaningful.

that's a great idea. Stripping away victories after the fact. Hell, Pac would possibly be 0-2-2
